After the scoring reviews about the Biryanis served here, on my brother's insistence we finally made our way to this restaurant.
It has become one of our regulars whenever we have a strong urge to eat Biryani. Parking can be a pain - tucked on the first floor of the building across the street - the place is bustling with people. Not once, has there been a chance - that I got a place there without having to wait for a minimum of 10 minutes. It is heavily crowded especially during the lunch hours and the crowd ranges from young college goers to bachelors to families.
My visit to Bangalore is never complete without a round here.
One would find the place is quite cramped up - I understand they want to accommodate as many people they can owing to the crowd it draws. It can easily place more than 100 guests at a time. They have the sofa seating and few regular table-chair setup spread across the room. With wall hangings and some beautiful chandeliers on the ceiling - it is wooden themed and has a light ambiance. ๐
Ordered for the PANEER TIKKA MASALA and it was surprisingly delicious - soft paneer cubes with other veggies like bell pepper, onions well marinated and tikka-ed perfectly. Yum! The BONELESS CHICKEN BIRYANI was mind-blowingly flavorsome in red gravy. The distinct grains of the Basmati -saffron infused rice was cooked to perfection with gracious servings of tender chicken chunks in a slight gravy form - with the kari patta ka tadka.๐ It is a typical Andhra biryani with the biryani being spicy and masaledar. Unlike other biryanis - the entire chicken chunks are stacked at the top of the rice. Accompaniments with the biryani are salan and raita. Team the biryani with a bottle of sprite and you are in for the perfect pet bhar lunch. The MEGHANA BIRYANI is on the similar lines but in yellow gravy, with the perfect blend of spices, rice, and the chicken chunks. The SPECIAL VEGETABLE BIRYANI does not stand a chance in front of the chicken biryani. It is equally spicy, but the vegetables are not really sliced aptly with huge pieces of potato, carrots, and french beans.
You would find almost 80% of the tables having biryanis served. The staff is really courteous and are at their toes cleaning the tables and serving the guests.
Take away: If you go for their takeaway - they give the chicken chunks and rice in separate packing. So you might mix it with your...
ย ย ย Read moreWe went to Meghana's on Saturday because it was so hyped in Bangalore and we had to try it once. The place was overly crowded and the queue came outside of the steps of the hotel ๐. We had wait for 15min staight to get a place for 2 people.
The vibe is not great. Just a normal hotel, but its clean. Since we are vegetarian and everything was too costly and overly priced, we just had "Special Veg Biryani" costing 300rs.
When asked to the service guy, difference between Veg Biryani and Special Veg Biryani, he said Veg Biryani will have only rice and no single vegetable in it, but in Special Veg Biryani we will get some veggies.
When it comes to food. The taste was just average not worth the hype and price. Only few veggies one 2 pieces of paneer we got in the biryani which was total off for us. The raita is too watery its not thick The curry taste is good actually Biryani was not spicy, so if u like spicy plz ask them beforehand to give u separate "Biryani masala" which u can add in rice and taste will enhance.
Total off: when we were still having our food they asked us if they can give the bill. And when we were still sitting having some refreshments the cleaner came and started spraying water over the table and started cleaning even when we have not even got off the table. Its a total service off for any customer.
Washroom: No separate washroom for ladies and gents. They have a single basin and aingle washroom attached for both genders. Its not at all comfortable.
What im trying to say is, in all over banglore if its hyped too much for their biryanis. I feel they should serve the best with good customer service and hygiene.
I will definitely not recommend this place for vegetarians. U can visit any other hotel with good customer service and affordable price...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently visited Meghana Foods in Jayanagar, and I must admit, my experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. Initially, I was taken aback by the pricing. I had seen plenty of reels and online reviews praising the place, but when I checked the menu, I couldnโt help but feel that it was a bit on the higher side for what I expected.
However, once the food arrived, my disappointment quickly faded. The flavors were outstanding! I opted for their famous Chicken Biryani, and it lived up to the hype. The rice was fragrant, perfectly cooked, and packed with spices, while the chicken was tender and juicyโjust the way it should be. What I really appreciated was how they served the food directly onto the plate, creating a more personal and attentive dining experience. It felt like they took extra care with each serving.
The chicken kebabs were another highlightโsucculent, smoky, and full of flavor, and the accompanying raita and salad added the perfect balance. Overall, despite my initial sticker shock, the food quality, taste, and the generous portions made it worth the visit.
If you're planning to visit Meghana Foods, donโt let the pricing discourage you at first. While it might seem a bit expensive compared to other places, the food is definitely top-notch, and the dining experience is well worth it. Would definitely recommend it for those looking for a flavorful,...
