Visited the place many times in the past ...the place is located in Jayanagar opposite to the Jayanagar BSNL telephone exchange . The place is quite visible from the main road . Parking is available to a certain extent .
We ordered chats on the first floor . We ordered 1.masala puri - I don't know if it was isolated incident or our bad luck but it was really terrible , there was no salt and the masala used was very bland . The masala puri dried after 5 mins to almost inedible state . 2.samosa - the samosa was good , it wasn't oily or anything . The size was adequate . 3.katori chat - it was the really good , the generous dose of dahi managed to mask the hideous masala taste . It was spicy and cool and very much stomach filing 4.pani puri - I think for the price the Pani Puri is highly over rated . He gives around 6 puris with masala and Pani .....nothing great ....or nothing worth 70 bucks. It was good enough . 5.dahi puri - again thanks to the dahi the taste was considerably better ., There was tangy , sweet and cool taste . It was good . 6.rasgulla - sweets have never been an issue here so as usual it was really good . You get one rasgulla with a cup of syrup .
Overall I feel that chats are highly overrated , agreed he should keep the prices slightly higher than normal places but an average of 75 bucks for all the chats is ridiculous . There is no speciality nor is the taste that great!. The sweets on the other hand are good enough and worth the price .
If you have money to throw around do visit this place for chats , otherwise there are definitely better priced places with better taste . Sweets are recommended they have some good varieties with...

Over the years many other sweet shops in Bangalore, mysore, chennai have tried all that they could but still could not match up to their taste. I have personally tried many a challenger's mysore pak. These guys win hands down.
This family run "secret sauce" business was brimming to find new territories. The second generation though got into a feud(heard so) over who retains the brand name but have continued to expand with branches. Both use the same brand name.
The new look store has expanded big time with hundreds of sweets and a Chat + Kulfi counter (north eateries model). They originally only used to sell a handful of sweets and mixtures.
The reason I go back is always their special mysore pak. A rich ( monstrously unhealthy) preparation of chenna flour, dalda , sugar and ghee. Trying to explain the taste of this delicacy in words would be a foolish endevour . I won't try ! :)
Almost all sweets and mixtures are very good.
I find their chats average at best. Their joints are very well designed and they are becoming pricier by the day. They would have deserved a better rating , but for their prices breaking the ceiling :(
Must must try !! :) stick to the sweets and mixtures in ground floor and you will...
Read moreMust Try : Special Mysore Pak, Jaggery (ಬೆಲ್ಲದ) Gulab Jamoon and Chaats upstairs.
Mysore pak is one of our family's most favourite. I'm not sure of its origin actually, my dad used to get from a shop from Shivamogga which also used to be called Venkateshwara, surprisingly the owners here say that they don't relate. But the taste too resembles. The elaichi that they use in the Mysore paks gives it really a good flavour and lots of ghee. Definitely should try. I used to take this to my hometown almost every alternate visits.
Jaggery Gulab Jamoon, tried this once. It was good except that it was too sweet. I just couldn't finish the syrup, infact I'd recommend that they serve the syrup less else it'll all go for waste or make it less sweet that we could atleast finish it.
All other sweets are quite the usual, nothing too special, didn't find anything new and worth trying as of today.
Chaats on the upstairs is worth a try. They slightly priced on the higher side, considering the service and cleanliness, quite hygiene. But you should try, they are definitely better than most of the Chaats you...
