This place is on the main road and is easily accessible. Plenty of street side parking available subject to availability. We had breakfast here consisting of Thatte idli, Dal vada, Puliyogare, Mushroom pulao and Sweet pongal. The idly was soft and huge in size. A plate consists of 2 idli with a spicy chutney. Puliyogare was okaish with a bit on the sweeter side. Mushroom pulao itself was flavourful, but the chutney with a spicy twist did rob the flavours when mixed. The Sweet Pongal did not go well with anyone of us as it lacked any sort of flavours. If you are in a hurry and need to fill your stomach, then this place is fine. We always drive on this road and used to seeing crowds at this place. We thought of checking it today.
Puliyogare was sold out and we packed Pudina rice and Sakkare Pongal.
Sakkare Pongal was like jaggery rice!! Prasada in some temples taste better than this!! Just jaggery and rice and cooked with copra!! Calling this as Sakkare pongal and using “ Melkote” name is doing disservice to Iyengar cuisine!!
Coming to Pudina rice, it was just oggarane and rice!! Not even coconut forget other items like groundnuts etc!!
Glad we did not pack Puliyogare.
Please don't go here thinking you will get authentic iyengar style Sakkare Pongal or other items.

There was nothing exceptional for their claim of Melkote specialty puliyogare.
The Lemon rice was pale looking, lacking any seasoning, little lime if any, and had a weird Pulav flavor. To make things worse it even smelt like kerosene. 🤢
Nothing to praise the worthless Curd rice.
Overall, a hyped up and mis-represented version of Melkote...
