This is a nice place to hang out with your family and friends for a weekend dinners. They comprise multicuisine restaurant, buffet dinner, restro bars and Banquet halls. The restaurant is at the ground floor. And the buffet is at the first floor. The buffet hall can house 20-30 people at a time. They have a variety of dishes and cuisines beautifully crafted in their dinner menu starting from crispy starters to sweet desserts.
The welcome drink served to us choco lemon mojito, hot and sour soup. In the salad section, garden green salad, corn and pomegranate salad and Caesar salad. My personal favourite was corn one which are perfectly made. 5 starts for their presentation. Then starters we had, tandoori babycorn, veg seekh kebab, honey chilli crispy potato, veg manchurian balls. These were of average taste and there wasn't anything unique about them. Well in non-veg starters, squid sukka ghee roast was there which was a unique one. Others included, tandoori bangada, nallakaram egg, Afghani chicken which turned out to be better than veg starters. Then in the maincourse, veg diwani handi which was good, paneer jalfrezi was a disappointment, dal makkhani was not satisfactory. Corn and peas pulao was better than chicken biriyani. American chopsy, Kerela fish curry and chicken kaddai were good to try.
For the south Indian must have Mangalore shambhar, rasam, curd rice was there.
In the desserts they served sabudana paysaam, gulab jamun, fruit salad, Icecreams of different flavours with different toppings. But gajar ka halwa was a big disappointment.
So overall it's a good experience of a dinner buffet. Ample space available for parking....
Read moreGot chance to visit this restaurant on New Aiport road last weekend for buffet and it was a good dinner outing experience. It has good sitting space and really hospitable service staff. As welcome drink there was Choco Lemon Mojito served in Pot and the smell of Pot made the taste of the drink even better.
Tried starters mainly along with some main course items and more or less taste was good. Corn & Pomegranate Salad was prepared and textured nicely. In Manchurian, tried Tandoori Babycorn and Veg Ball Manchurian and i personally liked the later as it was really crispy filled with properly boiled veggies. At last tried Honey chilli potato which was made decently and was well balanced in sweetness and spices.
In Main course tried Paneer Jalfrizi curry along with Corn & Peace Pulav. Pulav was really good with what looked like made with premium quality rice. Paneer gravy was just ok ( may be as i'm more fan of Paneer with anything Butter :) ) but it tasted good with Pulav. Tried some taste of Veg Diwani Handi with Tandoori Roti and it tasted good as curry was not much spicy unlike handi in many other restaurants.
I also tried Veg Hot and Sour soup and it was prepared and served nicely with veggies making it good experience. In desert as usual there was Gajar Halwa prepared well but not like we expect in North India. I especially liked Dry Gulab Jamun as it was different from routine Gulab jamun we get everywhere. At last i had some Pista Ice-cream and flavor of Kesar and Pista made it perfect way to...
Read moreI can describe Pingara grand as a legacy restaurant serving local and Mangalorean seafood cuisine. The restaurant is tucked in a building which a high staircase to get in .. a bit difficult to find but once you enter the dining area you are shielded from the noise and the chaos of the road outside. The staff is courteous and welcoming! Suggest you to start off your meal with a round of piping hot Rassam and then Prawns Ghee roast as a starter.. this dish will appetise your senses! a must try! On the main course try out the beautifully marinaded Kingfish (Surmai/Tenggiri) Rawa Fry,Tava fry(Griddle roast with Semolina coating) Try Neer dosa which is great to polish off with a thick fish gravy (ask for a bowl of one when you order) Finish off your meal with steaming rice and a Fish curry (Pomfret recommended) This place will leave you with a taste that lingers for the next few...
