Today was my third visit to Sattvam but to their new branch in Whitefield, first of all a big thank you to bring Sattvam to a location which is much closer to me so that now i can just find a reason to visit it any time i want. On the review part, I wish i had added a more detailed review about them when i visited it first time probably way back when they had just opened in Sadashivnagar and i had fallen in love with food. Nevertheless its better late than never.
First of all the USP of Sattvam of why they stands out is the their speciality of serving a complete Sattvik food without onion and garlic and yet giving you an exotic taste and feel of food that you will just fall for. And serving their guest with fresh food with just minimal portion kept outside which can be replenished when consumed and yet served fresh, plus adding their kind and personal touch with great hospitality to make you feel special.
Let me start my review with the review on location: Its located at a prime location because one way you have Phoenix and VR mall and other side you have big residential apartment and office complex. The building in which they have put in Sattvam has nice basement and open parking space with valet parking option so no worries when it comes to parking and in terms of its own location, its situated on 3rd floor with ample space to to walk around inside and has around a dining space of probably 75-100 people.
Food: I think i have already mentioned that i fell in love with food when i visited food. Food here is presented and garnish that it just doesnt taste awesome but it also gives you an exotic feeling, because of the presentation thats done with food. Talking about the detail of food and drinks that i had.
By the way they serve starters/soups and drinks on table and rest of buffet is your own pick.
So our buffet started with
Kesar Shikanji which was so refreshing with a nice kick of kesar with every sip, this was served with some papad and fried baby corn starter with 6 different types of dips. The best among dips for me was tomato salsa, a mixed combo of sweet and tanginess in taste. Babycorn starter was good too.
Post this they served us with some more exotic dishes like
-Sandwich jalebi dhokla(dhokla sandwiched in two pieces of jalebi) - a yummy affair
Ragi papdi chaat served on liquid nitrogen fumes, an awesome chaat dish
-Crispy baby corn again v yummy
An innovative chocolate pani puri served with a shot of orange juice, the pani puri itself was just awesome, the juice wasnt even required with it from my perspective
Crunchy spinach sparklers(crunchy spinach seerved in papad)
All this followed by platter of 4 diff startered having
Sheekh kabab, bharwa potato, hara bhara kabab(best on this platter) and paneer(never ever had this soft paneer)
By this time we were almost done and then we were served with a yummy strawberry litchi drink which was so soothing and yummy for taste buds
By the way all the above was still on table. This is when we thought what next and chef told, all done for table and we can head to buffet, yes you heard it right, all this without even touching any item on buffet
Here comes the list of buffet: Kachori chaat--too good Dahi vada - awesome Pani puri(suji) with sweet water)- awesome
And then i thought i will go with main course :)
I took a bit to taste dal makhni, corn kofta, chana and bathura , this was my pick from buffet and all were awesome
Now comes my favorite part: i.e desserts
This place is heaven for anyone who has a sweeth tooth and I have one so it was heavenly, Serving more than 20+ desserts covering from: Cham cham, awesome Rasmalai: awesome Moong daal halwa: awesome(came as sugar and sugar free, both were equally good) Exotic Ghevar with rabdi and fruits topping : awesome Chenna based sweet with mango : awesome Triffle pudding: too good 5-6 varieties of cake i tried: All were awesome Ice cream roll: awesome Fresh fruits Sugarfree cake Lemon pie All were just sinful, exotic...
Read moreSattvam is one of the finest & award winning Pure Vegetarian restaurants in Namma Bengaluru. Spread across three locations, JP Nagar, Sadashiv Nagar and Whitefield, you are never too far away from an outlet of Sattvam. On a recent visit I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic sattvic vegetarian fare, which adheres to the yogic guna of Sattva. The sattvic diet shares the qualities of sattva that include, pure, essential, natural, vital, enriching, clean, conscious, true, honest and wise. The sattvic diet encourages the usage of seasonal produce, including fruits, nuts, seeds, oils, ripe vegetables, legumes, whole grains and dairy products. The sattvic food also devoids usage of onions and garlic, with the food prepared using fresh ingredients, with an aim to consume within 6 hours of the food preparation.
While all this might seem very restrictive, the talented chefs at Sattvam have ensured that there is no impact on taste. From the starters, to chaats, to salads, that were served on the table, everything was extremely delicious, with a stellar presentation. The chefs ensured that some of the items from the buffet were served to me at the table and this helped me save the many trips I usually make between my table and the buffet spread.
Kickstarted with a wonderful sweet corn soup, with loads of flavour, paired with a fantastic sattvic mezze platter, with soft pits, hummus and baba ghanoush, with some lavash on the side. A perfect start which becomes even more perfect with some chaats, including a sweet spicy pani puri, soft dahi bhalla, a papdi chaat, and dhoklas served with some strong chutneys to compliment. While I thought I could now hit the buffet spread, some more decadent starters came, including a beetroot tikki, super soft paneer tikka that broke while lifting, succulent vegetable seekh kebabs, and a potli kachori. Then came a portion of chinese fritters with a delicious sauce and steaming hot momos with a spicy chutney, without garlic, replaced with peanuts and redchillies. I did try out the moong salad that was fantastic, and a portion of their masala dosa with coconut and red chili peanut chutney.
The no-onion, no-garlic biryani was flavoursome and the no-garlic dal tadka tasted good, and so was the creamy delicious dal makhani. The chinese noodles too tasted good, with an excellent stir fried vegetables in a sauce. While there are options for roti, I skipped and had the palak corn gravy, and dum aloo gravy with rice. The mini cooker puliogare was fantastic, as always, and the lemon rice and curd rice were a perfect end to a delicious meal. I did love the no-onion bisibelabath, very well made and had all the right elements to bring in the flavour.
I did miss eating the two varieties of Pizza, fresh out of the oven, and the pasta live counter.
The endless array of desserts, completely eggless cakes, was a dessert haven, loved all of them and missed several as I was too full. The best part of Sattvic cuisine is also that it is made fresh, and devoid of any preservatives, it is extremely light on your tummy too. At 850 pp, Mondays to Thursdays, and 980 between Fridays through Sundays, this large spread is simply amazing and comes highly...

First Impression: Went on Friday noon 4 peeps , got a small cockroach as well along with us on table even before ordering food , that was pretty much pointing about hygiene -_-.
Food : Menu is very large and mainly it's buffet and it's very difficult for one person to try all items really ... but still will try wrap up. Also no onion garlic used as per restaurant in any of dish.
Starters: Paneer tikka, Corn tikki, momos, spring roll, Hara bhara kabab , tomato soup.
Paneer tikka 5* , corn tikki 4* Rest all 2 to 3*
Chats : Dahi vda 5* , Dhokla 3* , Pani puri ( not tried)
Fruits and salads of many varieties
Indian Sweets 7-8 types , 4 types pastries, muffins, choco mouses ( very bad it was ) , 4 types ice cream , few milk based bengali sweets , and one strange fruit based dessert which was good (4*) tried all of the sweet items here :).
Only kheer ( 5* ), chocolate muffin (4) rasmali (4) and moong dal halwa was good in all sweet items rest all were either very sweet or not tasty at all.
Main course: paneer makhni (4) , Dal makhni (5 straight, it was really yumm ) Others were ... Chana masala, dal tadka , dum aloo , sweet gravy kofta , palak corn gravy all these just ok 3*
Roti and Naan ( they were really good ) Boondi Raita ( 4*) Papad
Rice items were also there of 8-9 types but we only tasted 1 or 2 which felt average not any exciting taste.
Hummas and pita bread (3*)
Live Pizza 2 types , margarita and veggies paradise, tried 2nd one it was fine(4*)
Noodles not tried :) Veg ball Manchurian not tried
There were live pasta as well 2 types, didn't try :)
Smoky Paan at the end time of billing, which was good.
May be missed 5_6 other items possibly but major things surely covered.
Kheer and Dal Makhani was top pick and actually very very tasty all of us like these 2 items.
"Dal Makhni , Paneer makhni , Kheer , Paneer tikka, Dahi vada , Rasmali , Fruit based dessert , Moong dal halwa , Veg paradise pizza , Boondi Raita , choco muffin, corn tikki , tomato soup, fruits all these are good options here and must try atleast all these".
"The bad food ratings is due to hygeine as we found another small cockroach in one rice dish when we were almost finished eating -_-".
Music : light music tones only mostly devotional ones.
Service: we know at buffet places food wastage is huge but when two of us asked for more paneer tikka the service person only came up with 2 pieces in a small plate :).
Overall hygiene was some big concern here. If one don't come across that experience they will say it's must try place but surely I can't say that now. Though hygiene issues are mostly everywhere unless you come across them , and then story...
