STUPENDOUS ITALIAN PARADISE It was our 4th wedding anniversary and I was in two minds to book a place where we could spend some good time together with relishing food and soothing wine. After quite a research on Zomato, I stumbled upon this place which looked extremely royal with authentic Italian cuisine. Toscano means âwhere the herbs and spices delight your taste budsâ and this place has truly kept it. They are the best Italian restaurant that I have come across in Bangalore and must say itâs worth trying it out if you have some crazy taste buds.
Toscano serves A-Le-Carte and buffet as well. But tell you something itâs not like your regular buffet that you wish to go for. Itâs an Italian buffet which means More Meat, More Variety of Meat, More Variety of Meat with Veggies and every dish has its own specialty and taste. We wanted to delight ourselves with some good eateries so we opted for buffet and My-oh-my what an extravagant meal it was. Hold on to your seats as I take you through this sinful food journey.
Starters:
ANTIPASTI
Your food encounter starts from the poultry section where you are served with âChicken Piccata Milaneseâ â a pan fried parmesan coated chicken breasts served with Spaghetti Pomodoro and mixed greens. The chicken is juicy and tender and you can feel it the way it gets melted in your mouth. The veggies are sautĂ©ed with herbs and create a great taste when combined with chicken.
TRADITIONAL THIN CRUST PIZZAS Veg Pizza - Genovese- A perfect mixture of bocconcini, basil pesto, olives, roasted red pumpkins, zucchini, artichokes, bell peppers and sundried tomatoes. It comes in hot on your plate and looks drooling in an instance and makes you keep filling with every bite you have of it. The crust is so thin that you could hardly figure out when was that lump of pizza got over. And trust me you can have it up to 4 slices itâs that bloody good.
Non-Veg Pizza- Traditional Toscano- Minced with pesto chicken chunks, bell peppers, dried onions, olives, and bull's eye egg. I think I never had a meat feast like this one. Itâs truly made for a non-vegetarian like me, has all the perfect ingredient that just toss you on your feet to have it more. The melted cheese keeps taunting you to slice them up into 4-5 pieces and in the end, you wonât be getting over it and will crave for more.
Main Course (Only the Show Stoppers)
As itâs an Italian buffet keep in mind that the food style is majorly themed around salads and veggies, no wonder you will enjoy it but be assured that you are an Italian cuisine fan. The list is fancy when it comes to naming them and equally surprise you when you start tasting them.
FUNGI, CANNELLINI BEAN & FRESH BOCCONCINI- Hold on tight to some more variety of veggies that are twined together to create a combustible fusion for your taste buds. This salad includes grilled mushrooms, fresh bocconcini sautéed broccoli, rocket pine kernels & mixed greens what will totally give you a hiccup when you leave this place after having this.
INSALATA DI BRESAOLA- Yup, you heard it right, there was a beef salad as well. This one was orchestrated with the perfect blend of veggies and dried beef giving you a great taste. The salad combined with young greens, matured Emmenthaler, boiled egg, radish shavings and croutons in house dressing.
SMOKED SALMON TARTARE- Let it melt away, so tender juicy spiced up with celery and carrot salad that you can go numb for few minutes.
BUCATINI SORRENTINO- Another Amazing Pasta which is an Italian classic which is freshly made with a creamy sauce of onions, mushrooms, young spinach, sundried tomatoes, and parmesan. That one perfect pasta that takes the center stage among all the dishes.
DESSERTS- This will take a back step here. Everything looked fancy but the base for everything was only moose and pastry. It was pleasing to the eyes but not for the tummy so I am kind of disappointed here. Hope they come up with some innovative dishes which are pleasing to the taste buds.

Read moreToscano is right on top few Italian restaurants in Bangalore. Either you can go la carte (lunch/dinner) or they have a buffet lunch option on Thursday and Friday. Restaurant is located opposite to the World Trade center in Orion mall and the ambience is similar to a cafe if you sit outside or you can sit inside if that's you prefer.
Their menu is quite exhaustive and you can get almost everything that Italian cuisine offers. Once you sit inside you will be welcomed with breads and cheese spreads. Meat and Fish are fresh and vegetarian options are equally good. Their garnishing and seasonings are worth mentioning. Pizza is equally good here. I recommend Bismarck Pizza if you haven't had it already (They use egg instead of cheese as a base).
Desserts are equally good and not overly sweet. Try plum pudding if you are not a fan of icecream or brownies.
Overall very satisfying. Price is high reasonable considering the excellent standard they maintain. I have visited this place at least 10 times but they quality never fails to amaze me. If price is too high for you then you can opt for relatively cheaper buffet lunch option (~800 INR...
