Post-lockdown, one would assume that restaurants would do what they can in their power to ensure that more customers visit them than before, and as often as possible. But not Rajdhani, no sir!
In a sparsely occupied restaurant, no one seemed interested to seat us and we had to wait for a good 5 minutes before we were shown to the table with a wave of the Captain's hand (sit where you want). Food was served almost immediately and this was probably the best part of the service. So different from all other visits (pre-lockdown). One staff member positively snapped when I asked him the name of a dish he served was.
When it came to paying the bill, they did not have any contactless payment system. I was bluntly told to pay via cash or card. Since I do not carry cash and their machines did not accept Amex cards, I requested the waiter to please check if any contactless option was available (logic demands that a brand like Rajdhani would have made some provisions to ensure customer health safety) as I did not have any other mode of payment. I was rudely asked by the server Ajay Kumar "toh mai kya karu?". Rather than be insulted anymore, I asked to speak to the manager. While apologetic, he was not able to convince me that someone else (or indeed I, had I ever visit again) would not face a similar situation. When I asked them why they do not have a contactless payment system and insisted that I will only pay through that, a Paytm QR code was sheepishly produced!
It's a shame that I will not be going back here in a hurry, I really did like the food and have been a patron since this outlet opened in March 2013.
When I asked for a corporate email id to write to, I was told, nay challenged, to post a review on Zomato instead. If one was a conspiracy theorist, one could draw the conclusion that someone is trying to sabotage this restaurant.
My message to Rajdhani, "A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an...

I recently dined at Rajdhani – Rajasthani Thali Restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience that beautifully blended culinary authenticity with thoughtful hospitality.
From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, and the service was exceptional throughout. A special mention to Umashankar, who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. His attentive and cheerful demeanor truly elevated our dining experience.
The food was absolutely top-notch – a colorful and flavorful spread of traditional Rajasthani and Gujarati dishes that hit all the right notes. Each item in the thali was meticulously prepared, fresh, and bursting with authentic flavors. From the spicy ker sangri to the comforting dal baati churma, everything was served with warmth and pride.
What stood out even more was the restaurant’s thoughtful touch of serving curd rice at the end of the meal – a respectful nod to Kannadiga culture, where finishing a meal with curd rice is customary. As someone who appreciates this tradition, it was heartening to see such cultural inclusiveness in a restaurant primarily focused on Rajasthani cuisine.
Rajdhani is more than just a meal – it’s an experience that reflects India’s rich culinary heritage, and their staff’s dedication to service makes it all the more special. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a wholesome, delicious, and culturally rich dining experience.

Read moreTldr ; only worth on Tuesdays when there is no festival season
I recently dined at Khandani Rajdhani and had a mixed experience. The restaurant offers substantial discounts on Tuesdays, which is a great incentive for diners. However, on festival Tuesdays, they don't provide these discounts, which was extremely disappointing. 😑
The Rajasthani cuisine was rich in flavor and authenticity. The menu featured a delightful array of dishes, including dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, and kesar lassi, all bursting with traditional Rajasthani spices. Authentic and rich 👍🏻
Despite the delicious food, I couldn't overlook certain aspects of the experience. The service was good, but the ambience lacked the charm I expected from a Rajasthani restaurant. Furthermore, the prices, even with the Tuesday discount, seemed substantially high for the overall experience provided.
In conclusion, while the food at this Rajasthani restaurant in North Bengaluru was a culinary delight, the overall experience left much to be desired. The lackluster service, ambiance, and pricing made it difficult to justify a return visit.
Additionally, it's important to note that tables can't be pre booked at this restaurant, and diners are served on a first-come,...
