"Good Italian Food, Good Wines, Good Ambience, and Slightly Expensive."
...
Ambience: This place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Your food could get cold faster if you choose to sit outside, got to keep that in mind. By the way, it is located on the ground floor at Nexus (Forum) Shantiniketan Mall.

Food: This is the most important part of any restaurant according to me and this place had plenty to offer!
We ordered two drinks🥂: Sparkling Wine (a glass of Sula Brut) and Bellini. Both were pretty good, I loved the Bellini, it was quite refreshing with the fizz of a sparkling wine and an intense peach flavour. They also have Champagne and Prosecco but it's sold only by bottle. Apart from these, they have other classic and house-special cocktails and many other wines, liquors as well.
We then ordered these dishes: Burrata Pere, Salmon Two Ways-Rolls & Crostini, Crispy Baby Squids & Prawns, Toscano (Sourdough Pizza), Spaghetti Pescatore, Spaghetti Carbonara, Lasagna di Pollo, Duck Confit, Classic Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Affagato al Caffe.
Burrata Pere: This dish looked quite interesting to me as it came with shaved black truffles (yes, actual black truffles, not some truffle oil or truffle sauce). It came with roasted honey pear and it was really juicy and sweet. But the dish was a bit disappointing because there were just three small shavings of black truffles and I couldn't see much aroma in them. Tasted pretty much like earthy mushrooms with a slight hint of pungency. But it was not enough for me to get the true essence of black truffles or truffles in general.
Toscano: It was a sourdough pizza with boiled egg slices and pesto chicken on it. It was quite tasty, had enough olive oil on it, I guess. It was quite thin and was literally a foldable napkin.
Spaghetti Pescatore: A spaghetti dish with mussels, clams (with shells), crab meat, and other seafood. It tasted pretty much like the sea or seafood. This one used the tomato-based red sauce.
Spaghetti Carbonara: Quite creamy and cheesy, comes with parmesan cheese.
Duck Confit: This was my favourite dish here probably. The meat was quite tender and succulent. It was literally falling off the bone. But it was a bit too greasy for my friends. It tasted quite close to chicken (at least to me even if it is closer to red meat). The sauce that came along with it was sweet due to honey I think, and it went beautifully with the duck.
Affagato al Caffe: Well, the name is a bit fancy but it is just vanilla ice cream and hot espresso. There were macarons inside it though to make it look fancier!
...
Service: The staff here are quite polite and experienced. They addressed our queries or concerns quite professionally! Keep up the great hospitality!
...
Price: Quite expensive but that's what you pay for good wines or black truffles!

Overall, a nice Italian restaurant to have good pizzas or pasta. One of the very few restaurants near Whitefield to actually have good sparkling wines and black truffles on their menu.

Suggestions: If you book a table through EazyDiner, you get two discounts (one by EazyDiner/restaurant and the other by banks/credit cards). This is at the time of writing this and the EazyDiner/restaurant discount is not applicable on alcoholic beverages. You could try their Burrata Pere, Duck Confit, Sparkling Wine and Sparkling...
Read moreI have been a frequent visitor to Toscano since many years and was really ecstatic to know that a new branch has opened quite near to my place, in Forum Shantiniketan mall. Went here for a leisurely lunch with some colleagues.
The ambiance is really nicely done with a relaxed and calm vibe all around. There is an outside seating space also present with loungers which is really great.
We tried many signature drinks from the menu. Ti Amo was a nice cocktail with vodka, peach, rose mary syrup, lime juice and dry sparkling wine. Whiskey sour, an all time dependable classic drink, was also pretty neat. Via Verona and classic sangria also come highly on my recommendation list.
In food we started off with goat cheese and roasted pear salad. It was absolutely fantastic. The in house garlic bread should also not be missed. Mushroom antipasti was gobbled down quickly. I also quite liked the pumpkin ravioli and the mushroom risotto. Both were expertly curated. Coming to the main course, we tried norma pizza which had grilled eggplant, artichokes, sundried tomatoes and goat cheese chunks. Pollo del toscano is another signature dish having spinach and ricotta cheese stuffed chicken breast served with roasted rosemary potatoes and ratatouille vegetables. Even talking about it makes me salivate.
Finished off the meal with the highly popular chocolate kahlua mousse, tiramisu and creme brulee. Loved the mousse. Tiramisu was excellent and the coffee ice cream served alongside lifted its flavours up a notch. Creme brulee had a nice crackle and was another gem of a dessert. These were some of the best desserts I have had anywhere in the city.
Overall, as expected, I loved the meal here and everyone came back happily stuffed. Absolutely...
Read moreOf all the places I've eaten at in Bangalore, Toscano at Nexus Shantiniketan has to be one of my top experiences. The vibe is very relaxed and inviting, with a touch of class that’s just right for an unhurried afternoon meal. But the cuisine is the real hero here.
Let me tell you about the risotto I ordered; it was genuinely the most amazing I have eaten anywhere in India. So luscious and creamy, it was prepared absolutely perfectly with a lovely texture. The dish was packed with flavour but wasn't overwhelming at all. It was obvious they use superior produce, and the blend of textures and spices was absolutely perfect.
Another star of the meal was the burrata. The cheese itself was incredibly fresh and milky. But the thing that truly wowed me was how much you get. Usually, restaurants are so stingy with burrata, but this serving was substantial and totally justified its cost. It’s an appetizer you would want to hog, but it is also ideal for passing around the table.
The team there was very courteous and attentive. They gave us some great recommendations and checked in to ensure we were having a good time. The entire service flowed seamlessly, and our food was brought out promptly, which really added to the great experience.
To sum it up, if you appreciate expertly prepared Italian cuisine in a lovely environment, Toscano at Nexus Shantiniketan is a fantastic choice. Everything from the food's standard and appearance to the serving sizes was just right. I am certainly planning another visit, and I will likely get those exact same items. If you are nearby and want to indulge a bit, you should definitely put this place at the top of...
