I think BBQ Nation is losing its ways due to greed.
We went to this establishment for a team dinner. (20 members).
Food taste aside, the amount of food served has become shockingly low. The frequency of the kebabs brought in, is very less as well. The number of pieces in one BBQ rod is like three. (Cost cutting improvisation?)
The staff, (I can even name the person), who attended us was so rude and frustrated. Maybe the hotel is overworking them? . May be! But still, irrespective of that, that is not how you behave with customers.
We complained that frequency is slow, he got offended for that and reduced the frequency further (retaliation🤔).
Despite multiple call outs and requests. Nothing changed. Food wasn't simply served.
After further pressing, he said he needed to serve other tables as well (in rude tone).. and we need to wait until it's ready... As if this is charity food or as if you are forced to serve us.
While one of my colleagues politely asked why our table was left out, the particular staff got angry, showed rude gestures and left the vicinity. As I was not ok with this, went to the supposed supervisor and complained about it and educated them on customer service.
To my utter dismay, the waiter returned with over the top fake smiles and brought in too much food. ( We had already given up at this point and filled ourselves with other items like dessert, etc)... This is very very bad. His behaviour was so fake that my colleagues asked us what was wrong.
Firstly, the problem is - the staff most probably are assuming - that since, it's corporate team dinner/party, that we are not invidiually paying ourself. So we look kind of cheap/low and being treated as if charity is offered.
Secondly, Clearly the demand is too high and staff are also overworked and frustrated.(multiple staff confirmed this). Production vs demand seems to be big issues here.
Thirdly, So BBQ Nation, what are u playing at? You still charge a premium and don't want to serve food with sufficient quantity (being unlimited, it's expected) and quality.
I think, we need to see this closely and avoid this place...
Read moreThe BBQ Nation in Nexus Shantiniketan Mall is a new addition to their series of restaurants in Whitefield. It is extremely high in demand or at least that's what we experienced as we visited on 14th Feb.
STARTERS: Food wise, they have compromised on the taste for sure as my initial experiences in this chain dating back to the year 2013 were far more scrumptious than the one I had 10 years later. Between the 2 options, non-veg offerings were the clear winners. The chicken tikka, tandoori fish, prawns, mutton seekh kebab and chicken leg piece, all the dishes were marinated very well, thus leaving their mark. Whereas, the veg dishes were just average with none of the starters being worth remembering. I gave multiple trials to crispy corn because I feel that's something that is hard to get wrong but I was mistaken.
MAIN COURSE: The main course was a disappointment. Apart from the Chicken Biryani, there was nothing that could be tried again. I usually like the veg hakka noodles and dal makhani that other buffet restaurants prepare. But BBQ Nation was not upto the mark when compared with their competitors.
DESSERTS: The paan kulfi and mini gulab jamun were the clear winners and the brownies, pastries and other offerings were nowhere close.
CHAAT: The chinese bhel was bland and I could not understand the 'chinese' element in it. The paani puri was also average as the spicy water was not spicy at all.
Since we had the option of choosing non-veg over veg, we still managed to fill our tummies with delectable food. But I feel that the restaurant needs to get their veg game in place.
One of the other factors which made the experience a bit bitter was the confusion in their reservation system. We booked a table for 8.30 PM through Google which was in-turn integrated with EasyDiner (we received the message from ED) but the concierge told that they could see 9.00 PM on their system. Now, this could seem to be a very ordinary thing but on a busy night of V-Day, this meant waiting frustratingly for your date to begin. So BBQ Nation should also get their reservation...
Read moreI am sorry for posting my experience with Barbeque Nation Shantiniketan mall. I had been there yesterday i.e 04th Feb and I had a terrible experience. Only the starters, chat and dessert item were good. Main course was terrible, Rogan Josh was horrible which had excess of Garam masala due to which the entire dish tasted bitter. I had Veg Briyani and even that had excess of Garam Masala. I seriously wonder are the chefs consider their customers as "Guinea Pig" and want to experiment on us. When we asked the lady to call the Chef, he sent his Junior and when we asked him if he tasted the food... they said "No". I think so Barbeque Nation Management has started to take their customers for granted as their business is growing. Next compliant, the toilets are so un-hygienic... I felt I am using a public toilet. The tissue disposal box had got rusted and was even opening up, do they provide the same kind of rusted tissue disposal dustbin even to their MD. The toilet seat had loose screw and was wiggling and had stains over it (YUCK). The store manager was least bothered to attend the customer and was busy watching his phone. Not sure what he is seeing that he is least bothered about his customers. Overall experience is "Bad", "Worst" and "Pathetic". Please Barbeque Nation Management, kindly take feedback seriously...
