Uday Huts Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Bengaluru

I visited Uday Huts Family Restaurant in Yelahanka on January 5th, 2025, for lunch after reading positive reviews about their seafood. The ambiance was good, and the waiter (a Kannada-speaking person) informed me that the pomfret fish was priced at ₹550. I even reconfirmed the price before placing the order. I also ordered a biryani along with it.

When the bill arrived, I was shocked to see that the pomfret fish was charged at ₹639, and they had also added chicken kabab to the bill, which I never ordered. The total bill was ₹1163. I raised this issue, and after some back-and-forth discussion, they manually adjusted the bill to ₹914 by striking off the kabab, but even that amount didn’t add up correctly.

When I questioned the fish price difference, the waiter denied ever quoting ₹550 and started arguing in Kannada, which I don’t understand. They also included GST for the unordered kabab in the bill, which is unethical.

The manager also refused to accept their mistake and said they couldn't incur any loss due to staff errors. The staff continued arguing in Kannada, making my friend and me feel very unsafe. We ended up paying ₹914 just to avoid further confrontation.

Overall, this experience felt like a scam targeting customers who don’t know the local language. The restaurant staff was rude, argumentative, and made us feel uncomfortable. Also, they didn’t display their FSSAI license number, which is a legal requirement.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Be cautious if you don’t speak Kannada, as you might be overcharged and...

𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: ⭐⭐⭐ the lime soda glass was sticky to my hand.

𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐮 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: oh amazing!!! As a vegetarian, we have wide range of options.

𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝/𝐛𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝: spring roll, veg Manchurian, butter garlic naan, phulka, mutton biryani, mutton fry, beer.

𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞: Overall I loved the taste, BUT here's the input on following:

*Spring roll: it was tasty no doubt but the filling was overloaded.

*Veg Manchurian: It was soft inside and juicy.

*Butter garlic naan: Firstly it was served cold and was not soft. Garlic taste was minimal and butter was definitely put by a miser. So I ordered phulka with extra butter.

*Phulka: Phulka didn't really have extra butter, what I meant was phulka served with extra butter, they turned my phulka into the so called chapati. Didn't like it really but was okayish with Manchurian.

*Mutton Biryani: Expected long basmati rice in biryani it was more of donne biriyani but apart from that it was good.

*Mutton fry: didn't like it.

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Average.

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲: Definitely. Inclusive alcohol it's is one of the best place for treats and delight. Overall we paid 1300 rs plus tip.

The best family Dhaba in and around Hebbal. Always places seem to be very crowded and best suitable dhaba for all kind of age group.

Always this place will be more crowded Whenever I visit here. Especially during weekends, one has to struggle to occupy the seats.

They even serve alcohol here. Food really tastes good. They have most of the fresh menu in both vegetarian and non-vegeterain dishes, and they serve the multi cuisine

When it comes to food, really, it is a feast and a happy palate to the tummy. Whatever the dish we tried, everything was soooo good and out of the box, and we can't even express single regrets against the food.

Quality, quantity, and hygienic in serving food, everything was perfect!! When it comes to pricing, it is moderate and worth visiting the place.

Veg gobi pakoda - 9/10 (must try) Chicken Seekh Kebab- 9/10 Chicken Tikka - 9/10 (must try) Schezwan fried rice - 8/10. Panner Tikka - 10/10 (definitely try) Neer dosa and tomato curry - 10/10 ( Definitely should try) Tomato rice and tomato curry - 10/10 (Definitely should try).
