Kindly zoom in this photo and see you'll see the kind of food they are serving here Extremely Disappointing and Unhygienic Experience - Hotel UD Residency Bharjari Bhojana, Jayanagar (Visit on 17/04/2025)

I visited Hotel UD Residency Bharjari Bhojana on 17th April 2025 (Thursday) with a group of colleagues and friends. This was my third visit, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience that raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene standards.

During our meal, we found worms in the payasam and curd, and even discovered a cockroach in the pulav. When we brought these issues to the attention of the staff, the response was extremely unprofessional. Rather than taking accountability, they dismissed our concerns, suggesting that it was impossible given the volume of customers they serve, and even implied that our request to switch off the air conditioning might have contributed to the problem.

There was no apology, no genuine concern for customer safety, and no attempt to investigate or rectify the issue. Instead, the staff simply refunded our payment and asked us to leave, showing a shocking lack of responsibility or basic hospitality.

Such an incident is completely unacceptable, especially for a restaurant of this reputation. Food safety and customer wellbeing should always be the top priority. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment, and I urge the management to take immediate steps to address their hygiene...

I don't recommend this restaurant. Not a single item in the meal is tasty.

Holige - below average Palyas - vegitables are not sufficient, no taste, no spice, no salt Pulav - fully bland, no taste, no salt, no vegitables Vangibath - cannot understand the taste. Only colour is there Hesarubele - only cucumber in it no moong dal, hardly could find some Pineapple gojju - not sure why every meal contains this dish it's not part of South Indian meal. Somewhat average taste Sambar - not tasty, found vegitables, properly cooked, but no taste Sandige - it is small boti, no taste White Rice - cooked well, no issues Rasam - nice taste one of the good item Soup - tomato soup not good, manchow soup was tasty Masala dosa- not sure why this is made part of meals now a days in restaurants, no taste, served many times to see if we can fill the stomach with only dosaa. Chutney - no taste Curd rice - okay taste , but I would expect proper set curd to be served which we can have with white rice Pickle - good taste And the service is so fast no time to eat , they want us to eat curd rice before we could finish sambar and rasam rice.

Hope this feedback will be taken and improvement will be done

What is needed is simple home like food to be served not sure why it is made...

BHARJARI OOTA @ UD RESIDENCY, Basavanagudi

Location: 📌 Located near to South end circle .

Parking: 🏍️ / 🚘 There is sufficient parking for 2 wheelers in front of the Restaurant, but a very limited space for 4 wheelers.

Restaurant: 🍽️ A pure Veg Restaurant serving mostly South Indian, North Indian, & Chinese items.

Ambience: 🪟 This restaurant is a located in the ground floor of the hotel. A clean & neat place, nothing to complain about.

Service: 🧑‍🍳 Mostly people serving are friendly, nothing to crib about. Most of them keep coming for repeatedly serving the dishes.

Food Taste: 🥘 This review of mine is for the Bharjari Oota served on the plantain leaf during dinner.

Following items were served: Tomato / Veg Soup Payasa, Pineapple Gojju, Pickle, Cucumber Salad, Corn Kosambari, Cabbage Palya, Kayi / Bele Obbattu, Mini Masala Dose with Chutney, Poori, Phulka, North India Gravy, Dal, Veg Pulao, Chitranna, Anna Sambar, Rasam ,Curd Rice, Ice Cream Cone

Pricing: 💰 They charge Rs. 240.00 per person all inclusive. Pretty affordable for the elaborate menu with service in a A/c hall.

Payment Options: 🖥️ They accept Credit Cards, cash & UPI .

My Verdict: 🎯 Highly recommended for a full...

South Canara Brahmin style unlimited meals served on a banana leaf! This place had been on my list for a while. Got to try it recently. Tried the unlimited meals (bharjari oota) for ₹220. They start with a soup course served in a glass. Second course is Holige/Obbattu served with payasa. They also serve two kinds of palya with salad. Third course is tiny masala dosas served with green chutney followed by a course of tiny soft phulkas served with south style kurma/sagu and dal. The rice course begins with Tomato and Lemon rice served with raita. Finally everything comes to a crescendo with sambar/rasam rice followed by curd rice. There’s also cone ice cream for dessert! By the end you’re just begging them to stop! Seriously! It’s one too many courses! For me personally, there wasn’t a novelty factor as everything tastes like Brahmin wedding food served in the Udupi area, which I’ve had way too many times! Though it might be a pleasant change for Bengalureans. Service is a tad slow but servers are polite and explain what’s being served. Really good variety of unlimited food served at an amazing price! Definitely worth trying once.

Went there on a recommendation. It is unlimited meals at 220/- per person. Food was good, and they served mini version of each recipe. Dosa they served was almost a quarter size of the actual dosa, same was the case with puri and phulka. The meal ends by 3:30 pm is what we heard from the staff. Felt the staff themselves were getting confused while serving. They pass by our table a few times but left without even offering to serve. Furthermore, things get really chaotic if you don't know which recipes they intend to serve in what order. Also, a kid of more than 5 years can’t share the meal with parents, they either have to opt for the same meal or order a la carte. They began with soup which was served in a tiny glass, followed by holige (extra piece was charged) and some dry curries. Then came dal and curry with phulka/puri, vaangi bhath, pulao and raita. Finally, steamed rice with rasam/sambhar, papad. The meal ended with curd rice. With each meal, one ice cream cone was complimentary. Parking can be managed on the roadside.
