It is one of the first fastfood restaurants in this part of the city. The younger sibling of nostalgic 'Pavithra' who introduced south Bangaloreans to Sambar dip idly concept back in late 1980s.
When ever I visit this place, I would have fond memories of Pavithra as it tastes nearly the same even after 30 years. They haven't forgone the single roti with a large bowl of dal concept. Neither is their sambar any different to the good old days. Coffee continues to kick me the right way with all its taste and caffeine. South meal is yet a never tiring, mom's receipe which you can savour on daily basis.
The other thing I noticed this time around is that they continue to use the Pavithra coupons which has its logo... the hoysala shila balike. However, they have repurposed them for this restaurant now.
As usual, hygenic... As usual, tasty... As usual, the friendly faces of kannada speaking staff makes me feel at home when I visit this wonderful fastfood joint.
I really hope and pray, it doesn't perish like it's...
Read moreThis is a very good fast food for vegitarians. Located on main road and you get varities of food. The quality was good and slowly it has come down.Still a good option on busy kr road.
FOOD: It serves typical south Indian dishes and this morning I ordered; Vada-Sambar: Vada was crispy but still the taste was just above average. As Naveen Suresh mentioned in his early review, they serve small onion sambar with lot of curry leaves which is very rare to find in other parts of Bangalore. Sambar tasted good. Masal Dosa: Good thing about Masal Dose is they use few drops of oil to roast it. If you are a oil conscious, don't even bother to ask the cook. Masal Dosa was crispy and aloo palya was nice. Chutney provided with it was too good. It appeared like its specially made for Dose only. Tea: It was good as usual.
Service is quite basic and generally servers mishear customers & serve wrong dishes. So repeat your order if you have doubt.
FINAL VERDICT: "A good old restaurant which is...

Fast forward many years, I'm happy to see that karma has bit him and the place is generally empty when Cool Corner is still generally packed. A big...
