In kannada this is termed as ಕಹಳೆ ಬಂಡೆ Kahale Bande. Bungle Rock is a massive rock in the Basavanagudi area of South Bangalore, in the state of Karnataka. It is an abrupt rise above the ground of peninsulargneiss as the main rock formation and with an assessed age of about 3,000 million years. Bugle Rock has generated wide interest among the scientific community This park has Some History which is given below : Kempe Gowda II (who came to power in 1585), the feudal ruler of Bangalore, is credited with building four watchtowers setting limits for Bangalore's expansion, which included a tower on the Bugle Rock (on the southern boundary) as it commands a panoramic view of Bangalore city. It is said that at sunset a sentry would blow the bugle and hold a torch (Kannada:panju) which was visible from the other three watch towers (one on the southern bank of the Kempambudi tank on the west, the second near Ulsoor Lake in the east and the third tower adjoining Ramana Maharshi Ashram on Bellary Road, namely Mekhri Circle in the north). This was done to inform people that everything was safe at that location and to give a warning bugle call to alert the citizens of any intruders into the city. Most of the rocks on the Bugle Rock, next to the Bull Temple, have hollows, which were once used to light lamps. This landmark spreads over an area of 16 acres (6.5 ha). This rock is contiguous and similar to the rock at LalBagh tower Geological age of rock : South India is endowed with one of the oldest land formations on earth, namely the Gondwanas of Archaean age. The massive rock exposure at LalBagh, which is adjacent to the Bugle Rock exposure, was first examined in 1916 by Dr. W.F. Smeeth of the then-Mysore Geological Department who classified this rock as "peninsular gneiss." The antiquity of the rock formation has generated innumerable scientific papers from geologists of the then Mysore Geological Department, the Geological survey of India (GSI) and the scholars from related academies and institutions abroad.

Title: A Picturesque Oasis in the Heart of Bengaluru - Bugle Rock Park Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bugle Rock Park in Bengaluru, and I must say, it is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of the city. This park is a perfect blend of natural beauty, historical significance, and recreational opportunities, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and families alike. First and foremost, the park's location is truly remarkable. Situated in Basavanagudi, Bugle Rock Park offers a serene escape from the bustling city life. As soon as I entered the park, I was greeted by a tranquil ambiance and the soothing sounds of chirping birds. The park is beautifully maintained, with well-manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and lush green trees that provide ample shade. One of the highlights of Bugle Rock Park is, of course, the massive rock formation that gives the park its name. The rock formation is a natural marvel and a testament to the geological history of the region. Exploring the various nooks and crannies of Bugle Rock was an exhilarating experience, and the panoramic views from the top are simply breathtaking. It's a perfect spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts looking to capture stunning vistas of the cityscape. The park also boasts a rich historical heritage. As I wandered through the park, I came across numerous ancient temples and monuments that pay homage to the city's past. The Bull Temple, with its awe-inspiring Dravidian architecture and the magnificent idol of Nandi, is a must-visit. The park's association with Kempegowda, the founder of Bengaluru, adds another layer of historical significance to Bugle Rock Park. Bugle Rock Park is not just a feast for the eyes but also offers a range of recreational activities. There are well-maintained walking paths that provide a refreshing stroll amidst nature. Additionally, the park features a dedicated play area for children, making it an ideal spot for families to spend quality time together. I also noticed fitness enthusiasts engaging in various exercises and yoga sessions, making the park a great place for fitness activities. The park's cleanliness and maintenance deserve special mention. The staff does an excellent job of keeping the park in pristine condition, and there are ample garbage bins throughout the premises, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for visitors. The park's accessibility is another advantage. It is located in close proximity to major transportation hubs and is easily reachable by both public and private transport. Parking facilities are available nearby, making it convenient for visitors to access the park without any hassle. In conclusion, Bugle Rock Park is an absolute must-visit if you're in Bengaluru. Its stunning natural beauty, historical significance, and recreational opportunities make it a truly special place. Whether you want to immerse yourself in nature, explore historical landmarks, or simply unwind amidst a serene environment, this park has it all. I wholeheartedly recommend Bugle Rock Park to locals and tourists alike.

Bugle Rock Park, (In Kannada ಕಹಳೆ ಬಂಡೆ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನ) Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, Karnataka Is one of the famous park . This park has beautiful greenery , walking area , play area for children. Well maintained walk way. They have provided special space & equipments to do exercise. It is in center of the city , so that easy to travel from other places also. And also many famous temples are there near by this park. Example : DoddaGanesha Temple , Big Bull Temple, Sri Krishna Temple (Govardhana Kshetra), etc... Very nice place to visit & spend some pleasant time with our family, friends etc.. 👩👩👦, 👨👨👦👦 Do visit & have nice memory . 💐👍🍫 Many senior citizens , old school friends , college friends can make a day out in this park to recall their sweet memories. 💐🍫 One thing I need to tell about children play area. We were staying in this area in 2008, 2009 then I used to take my 7 year old son daily to this park . Then many of the elders especially college students used to sit in swing (uyaale), seesaw (yeta pata) made for under 12 age children, to take their pictures . I used to ask them are you still below 12 years age? People will not use dust bins to dispose the garbage after eating . And also many other scene which small children should not see that will happen there. Then I have stopped going there . Recently after so many years I was passing through Bugle Rock Park to Sri Krishna Temple I saw same situation in this park . Many of the elder were sitting in children's play equipments . I felt bad . People should understand that play equipments made for children will have their own weight capacity as per children's age. If elder will start using it, it may cause accidents when children will sit on it to play . Elder will get many places to take their photos , where they can . So I request all the elders that please don't use play equipments in parks especially made for children. 🙏 And also tell your children to use dust bins to dispose garbage, chocolate wrappers, ice cream papers, etc... 🙏 Go with children let them play & enjoy. you also enjoy by seeing them while playing . 💐👍🍫 Have a nice memory after visiting Bugle Rock Park 💐👍🍫

I could visit the Ground nut festival aka Kadalekai Parishe near the Dodda Ganesha Temple, Basavanagudi. This fair was luring me for long and fortunately I could complete the mission this year. I went to the fair on the last day (November 15th). Nevertheless it was no less satisfying and I'd indulged in some street food binging to satisfying the photographer in me going around and clicking the camera. The piles of groundnuts and sellers welcome you at the parishe but its the buyers and sellers that make the fair vibrant and worth visitng. The javvu mittai sellers that I saw as a child who used to come on cycle and make variety of stuff with the sticky candy such as neckpiece, finger ring, fan, umbrella were seen at the fair and so was a street beggar who painted himself as Gandhi. I remember seeing these as a child. The man would not blink his eyes for the penny. I offered the man lunch and took some pictures. From bajji sellers to brass artefact sellers, you can see many worthy deals at the fair. Stay warned that temple darshan during the fair is not going to be easy. The fair is conducted during last Monday of the karthik month.

Best place for kids and elders... Great place to soend a time with family and lot if places to see near. Coupled with beautiful park, vicinity of more temples - this place is definitely worth spending few hours. Early morning visits are recommended for more peaceful time and to experience the bugle rock park. Good park in the midst of the city for a refreshing morning walk or a general stroll. With lush green trees and plants in abundance, walking in the well maintained track rejuvenates the visitors in the natural atmosphere. One can witness mammoth bats clinging on the gargantuan trees. Melodious chirping of birds perched on these trees is another sight not easily seen elsewhere. Parking is available on the main or other parallel roads. There is a pay and use public toilet on main Bulll temple road.
