UB Roti Ghar in Gandhi Bazar, Bangalore turned out to be an unexpected delight. Although my original plan was to visit Vidyarthi Bhavan, I stumbled upon this gem right next to it. I opted for their small masala dosas, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty they were. The dosas were perfectly crispy on the outside, with a flavorful and well-spiced potato filling. The portion size was just right for a light snack.
Impressed by the dosas, I decided to try their idlis and puris as well. Both dishes surpassed my expectations in terms of flavor and quality. The idlis were soft, fluffy, and accompanied by delicious chutney and sambar. The puris were served piping hot and had a delightful flakiness to them. The overall taste of the food was excellent, and it left me craving for more.
One of the standout aspects of UB Roti Ghar is the reasonable pricing. Considering the incredible taste and quality of the dishes, the prices were quite affordable. Additionally, the service was prompt and efficient, ensuring that I didn't have to wait long for my order. Although I didn't plan on visiting UB Roti Ghar initially, I'm glad I did. It's a hidden gem in Gandhi Bazar, offering delectable South Indian delicacies at reasonable prices. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and delicious meal in Bangalore.
One thing to note about UB Roti Ghar in Gandhi Bazar, Bangalore is that the road leading to the restaurant is currently under repair. This might pose a challenge for those traveling by four-wheelers, as it could be difficult to navigate through the construction zone. Additionally, finding parking in the area might be a bit of a task due to the ongoing repairs. While the road conditions and parking situation may be a temporary inconvenience, it’s important to focus...
Read moreThe sheer variety of dishes offered with the Bharjari Oota was unbelievable. This banana leaf meal started out with Holige, a flatbread stuffed with a sweet mashed chana dal and served with ghee on top; as well as a Mysore Masala Dosa, a soft, golden brown crepe stuffed with masala potatoes and brushed with a spicy red chutney on the inside, served along with a coconut chutney and a pineapple chutney. Then there were two shot glasses of a tomato soup and corn soup; fried hollow papad rings; pickle; two types of kosambari (cucumber and moong dal, and corn with herbs); and palya (mixed root vegetables and chickpeas in a sweet and savory gravy). And that was just the first course! After this came phulka flatbreads served with a North Indian vegetable curry and yellow dal tadka. And what’s a South Indian meal that doesn’t end with rice? The surprising thing was that the meal here came with four different types! There was a biryani (rice mixed with chickpeas) served with raita, puliyogare (lemon rice), white rice with rasam poured on top, and curd rice! The service here was super hospitable and insisted I try a little of each item offered. The meal even came with an ice cream cone downstairs for dessert, but I simply turned it down. And incredibly, this entire meal experience came at just 190 rupees, which just might be the best meal deal I’ve ever seen. That said, all of the components served with the oota were pre-prepared and had been sitting around for a while. The Holige and phulkas had gone a bit stale, the dosa a bit soggy, and everything else was just not particularly fresh. That said, this was still a great way to try a bunch of different items, and enjoy great...
Read moreThis post is related to Self Service Unit of Roti Ghar. I am a regular customer here both at self service and dining and the food and atmosphere are decent. I am from Bangalore South and I have been visiting this place since its inception. Recently, the cashier there picked up a fight with me for no reason, and we had the most worst experience of our life in a hotel. We had our breakfast and went to get token for coffee, but when I tried to make UPI payment, it did not work, so went with the token outside to get money from my wife, and by the time I returned with the money, a lot people had gathered ordering food, so I stood a little far away so as to not cause any obstruction. The cashier suddenly started screaming at me that he is waiting for my payment. I patiently told him that I waiting with the cash and waiting for the customers to clear. He started abusing/accusing that I will drink the coffee and leave silently without paying. I made the payment and tried to explain my stand. He was so impatient and ill-tempered that I thought it would be waste of my time arguing with an IDIOT. I finished my coffee and returned. This was not the first time I saw him behave like that. Whenever I go there, I see him pick up fights with some or the other customers for silly reasons. He is the most rude, impatient and ill-tempered cashier I have ever seen. The management seems to like him the most and supports him in the fight instead of trying to diffuse the situation. I have decided not to go...
