Amba Bhavani is a small mess in Basavangudi, Bengaluru where you get some of the yummiest biryani in the city. They are a pretty small outlet and are open for a few hours from 12 to 4 in the noon on almost all days. It is best to arrive around 12 or so to have the food piping hot. We were lucky enough to go there as soon as they opened and were able to get most of the items instantly. We had the following while we were at Amba Bhavani.
The Mutton Biryani was very well cooked, the meat was very soft and nice, the taste was like a Maratha style biryani, a little spicy as well. They give a good amount of meat as well in proportion to the rice.
The Chicken Biryani is very similar in taste to the Mutton Biryani, they have used the same spices and masala for the rice. The chicken is cooked to perfection and is very aromatic as well.
For starters we had the Andhra Chilli Chicken which has a very spicy gravy with good pieces of chicken meat. It goes really well with the biryani but could make the experience a little too spicy so would recommend this only if you enjoy having spicy dishes.
Amba Bhavani has a wide variety of options to choose from both Mutton and Chicken dishes and it would be great if you could visit them a couple of times to fully enjoy everything that they have to offer. You can ask for a glass of rasam to end your meal at Amba Bhavani. It truly was a beautiful experience and would surely go back any day. You can find them at 50/2/1, Surveyor St, behind Cool Corner Hotel, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560004.

Read moreYou can miss this place if you blink. Hidden in the narrow lanes of Basavanagudi this little gem of a place which serves authentic Marathi and Kannada food.
Located in a basement many would shy away because it looks like alan ordinary mess. But your perception will change once you have eaten there.Haven't eaten at this kind of a food in ages where your taste buds are put into what test and takes you to a different level of self satisfaction if you are a foodie or not. The Paya soup(lamb hooves) and the mutton fry is not something u come across everyday. And of course the Biryani which I guess as of now seems to be one of the best in the city. This is just my opinion not to defame anyone else if they feel otherwise. It's an absolute bargain comes to price, very reasonable go easy on your pockets parking is never an issue.
Also recommended to visit on a Sunday morning for breakfast by 7:30 . Be early on that day as this is there tend to get over early but on other days the restaurant opens up at 12.
Please do visit this place without fail you will not regret...
Read moreThe food : absolutely lovely, especially the Idli, Biryani and pepper chicken. The chicken kabab is also good provided it's hot. We could not try the fish though. Seating : there are three tables and enough chairs for sitting around these tables which have makeshift umbrellas to shield you from the harsh sun but come rainy season, you will need to stand inside the small dining space by the kitchen and that has lesser space comparatively. From my experience, this place is not too crowded and you will have a chair to sit and enjoy your food. Location : Although not hard to find, it is right behind the cool corner near the traffic signal and a small sign shows the name of the place. (Google maps also brings you to the exact location). Parking inside the premises would be a little hassle while getting your two wheeler out but there is space outside the eatery and near...
