Located near nalban area sector V, Saltlake adjacent to a bar and beer refinery, this outlet of Bhojohori Manna serves authentic Bengali cuisines at good rates. There are more or less all kinds of typical Bengali food items available in both veg and non veg options. We have ordered a variety of things like mochar chop, vegetable chop, chicken gondhoraj fingers in the starter and white rice, mochar ghonto, potoler dolma, dhokar dalna, bhaja mung daal, vetki paturi, mutton kosha, chicken kosha, basanti Polao chutney, misty doi and cold drinks. All the food items according to us were average to good to taste. Among all of them the vetki paturi was great apart from the fact that the sarshe bata could have been a bit more juicier. The gondhoraj chicken finger was nothing but nuggets and mochar ghonto was also very dry. Potoler dolma contained only one potol which was really surprising. Here, one thing to note is none of the dishes will serve more than two or one in some cases. So, one has to ask the waiter before placing the order. Chicken kosha was a bit sweet and mutton kosha was not boiled enough , hence, I didn't like it the same much. Dhoka and potol were good to taste. Basanti polaw is also good. They are yet to start aam panna sharbat which is essentially a favourite item in this scorching heat for the Bengalees. In beverages, there were no items apart from a few cold drinks. We were there on a Sunday evening and no fish starter was available as well. The seats are of very basic design and don't take care of ergonomics much and the ambience is also very basic. The common washroom is there outside. This is adjacent to a bar, hence, one may have to bear little sound while having food. The best part was the lead time of serving, their service was...
Read moreWe ordered 3 veg thali and 2 Chiken 1 mutton ,2 fish fry on Monday 17-6-2024 Firstly The person who came for order he is very much unprofessional he didn't tell us about the 2 vegitables we can choose as our own .he served all orders as per his concern.all vegetables are same (sukhto ,lokhi sabjhi ,chanar sabji ,) when we got the order we told to replace these item because one person from our group don't like milk related vegitables.they told us this is not possible now .then after sometime person came and ask that sir misti Dahi is not there so can we give you one sweet for that we don't agree.I told the person that misti dahi and sweet are same ? If you don't have please replace with ice cream. He denied again .Then he came and give us 3rd class sweet (Not rossogolla ) and Hot misti dahi it is impossible to take.I told that person that why you give us these things.he told me you have to tell first. ..So my question is that the person who is going to the first time so how he knows that things. Is this not the responsibility of the person to ask or tell them ? You are charging 490/ rupees for veg thali and give us these treatments. My bill was around 2350 / approx for 3 person. We paid our money and got this type of treatment. I recommend and tell all the food lovers not to go this place and give people review for that. I already tell all my office colleagues regarding this incident. My request to the higher authority please teach you staff for behaviour and put some value in there inner place so that they can understand the people hard earned...
Read moreWe have ordered fish fry as a starter item and pulao, and mutton dakatiya as main course item alongside Pineapple chatni as a sweet course. Honestly the fish fry was decently tasty and made up of fresh vetki fillet. I would like to rate it 4.3 out of 5, recommend for a Savoury starter. Next, the pulao (bengali pulao) was automatic and nicely cooked with cashew and kishmish, and I would say it's worth a 4.6/5, definitely a must try item. But, the mutton dakatiya was truly disappointing, mutton was not fresh at all, soggy, chewy and an awkward taste overall. The aromatic masala punched gravy made it eatable but without the gravy it was really bad. I don't know whether it's a mistake or they do serve this kind of items made of stale mutton pieces, the mutton was worth 1.5 out of 5. The pineapple chatni had no taste of pineapple at all except shivering sweet taste from the sugar itself, and a 2.5 out of 5 for the dish. Lastly, the mango dahi (aam doi) had a soothing and satisfying taste, and worth of 4/5. One of my friends had ordered a double scoop icecream of Nolengur flavour (190/-) and it tastes utterly disgusting (deserves 1.5/5) and not recommended at all. Overall, whatever you eat there just leave a small review so that people get helped while choosing food...
