Five Mad Men (5MM) — Restaurant in Bidhannagar

Five Mad Men is a big name in the Kolkata Food & Pub Industry. So I was super Excited about being there on 15th August.

Location : Sector 5 Omega Building 1st Floor

Safety : At the entrance, we were given Hand Sanitizer and they checked our Temperature. At the time of our presence they sanitized the pub completely, twice. The Cleanliness & Hygiene is properly maintained.

Now About This Gastro Pub, it was a concept of 5 People with their Mad Idea of Creating this awesomeness to celebrate Para Cricket. From Having the largest pub screen to have Renowned Bands Performing, Live Performances, with some good food and good beer, aah it's indeed a happening place.

The whole Pub is sectioned in 2 parts. One part is the Cafeteria, decorated with hanging bulbs, wrought Iron Chairs and Quirky Wall art about Sports. The Another Section is the Bar. There are many games in the Gastro Play Pub. From Cricket Bats, Hockey Sticks, Jerseys, Cards, Skateboards hanging from the wall, to Billiard Table, Carrom, Foosball, Hand Soccer etc, perfect place for those who love sports.

Now Let's come to the Food we had,

We tried,

• Mista Salad • Grilled Bhetki Skewers • Cheesy Galangal Flavoured Corn cakes • Stir Fried Pork Sausage • Beer Batter Calamari • Bourbon Flamed Chicken Wings • Thukpa • Vegetable Creole Burger • Minced Lamb Burger • Peri Peri Veg Pizza

Now I personally loved 4 Of This Dishes,

|| Beer Batter Calamari ||

It was my first time having Calamari (a type of Squids), and I have to say this was an amazing experience. Calamari Rings dipped in Beer batter and 5 spices, and then deep fried to beautiful crispy fries, served with green chutney. Recommended!!

|| Bourbon Flamed Chicken Wings ||

Another beautiful classic dish with a modern twist. Chicken Wings, tossed in Bourbon Whiskey Sauce and then Flamed to give it the beautiful sour and sweet flavour. A beautiful view to watch and an amazing dish to have.

|| Thukpa ||

Thukpa is one of my Favourite from Tibetan Cuisine. A perfect Thukpa is the combination of Noodle Soup with veggies and meat(optional). Spiced & Flavourful Thukpa with minced meat and shredded veggies, it was so goood.

|| Peri Peri Veg Pizza ||

I am a huge Pizza Lover, and I have always been accustomed with the idea of round Pizza, though here we got a Square shaped Pizza with thin crust and toppings of Veggies in Peri Peri Sauce. It was so good, crispy, cheesy and I LOVED IT!!

Apart from these, we tried the Veg and Non Veg Combos too. I specifically have to recommend the Non Veg Combo, having Stuffed Kulchas, Butter Chicken, Kebabs ,Fried Chicken, Gajar Ka Halwa, Fries and Papad. More than Perfect for 2.

Now coming to The Mocktail Section, I had,

Presented in a boot shaped Glass, it was basically a Litchi based Mocktail. Fresh & Refreshing.

|| Red Card ||

It sounds spicy, obviously it have to be spicy too. Basically a pineapple and chilli based Mocktail decorated with red chili powder and lemongrass. I never thought Spicy can be so refreshing. Well every good things have it's start :3

|| Offside ||

My Favourite!! Well don't think I'm biased cause I love Watermelons but it was actually beautiful. The combination of coconut water and Watermelon, served in a coconut shaped pitcher, Perfect!!

Now I tried two things from their Mad Section,

|| Oreo Overload ||

If you love chocolate, it's for you. A huge glass of chocolate and oreos, what is not to like there? And just for the texture, it's recommended. Try it!!

|| Mad Berry ||

Not a Berry Fan, but It was actually really nice.

Now from Signature Items, I tried

|| Mad Mango ||

A big jar of Mango Smoothie and Cream, sounds good? It had a nice creamy texture.

Now for Cocktails, they are now serving premixes, which makes the whole situation easy as we can now have it while staying at home. The 5 premixes they are serving are

A Great...

Five Mad Men(5MM) is an upscale place with great choice of drinks foods and environments which is located at Salt lake City near RDB Cinemas.. This is the place where you can get any kind of drinks, hookah as well as lips smacking foods... This place has amazing vibe to it, the crowd is decent. they have stunning decor with colourful lightings and amazing music.. which were really helpful to setting a good mood.. and The place can get quite crowded as the night progresses..Well, We had a couple of cocktails to begin the night.. cocktails were so very luscious just perfect to go through the chilly winter season.. we also had their winter special dishes which were very delicious... The ambience here is soo Amazing and I must say it's an ideal place to hangout with friends and loved ones. The interiors are very well designed and they have projector with a huge projecting screen as well as LED TVs installed in various angles so that each and every guest can have a better view. You can easily take your friends and watch a sports match over drinks and food. They also have a pool table and a table soccer for all the fun loving guests out there.

Among the all the winter special Cocktails and Food, my personal favourites were.. Baked Pinacolada : This was soo tasty with a perfect blend of coconut milk , dessicated coconut, pineapple and Bacardi White Rum. It had the perfect taste and punch of the Rum. Kadak-T : Alcohol + Tea = Bliss. The Mar Bar of 5MM has come up with Kadak-T which is made out of milk tea and Jagermeister. It turned in to a perfect combination and something very essential during winter to keep yourself warm. Doctor's Special: This is a warm cocktail. Yes! 'Warm Cocktail". Its made by boiling the whole spices like cardamom, star-anise, fenugreek seeds, cinnamon stick, black peppercorns , cloves, in water and then adding JIM BEAM Bourbon Whiskey in it. As per the name , it's just perfect for chilly winter days. Garlic Soup in Bread Bowl : The soup was perfect and had a nice taste of garlic and cheese. The seasoning was spot on and the bread of the bread bowl was very fresh and soft. Chicken Mozzarella Cigars: The cigars were delicious, the chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The inside was filled with mozzarella cheese which added to its taste. Kerala Style Pork Pepper Fry: This pork dish with South Indian touch is soo delicious. It has the right amount of heat . The flavours and seasonings were spot on. Crunchy Cheese Ball Stuffed with Corn and Olive: It had a nice crispy outer texture and cheesy inside which was soo delicious. Wild Mushroom Risotto Ball: These Risotto balls were very delicious and the risotto was well seasoned and it had a nice and strong flavour of the mushroom Roast Duck with Ginger Orange Sauce: The roasted duck was soo delicious. It was soo tender, the duck was well cooked and seasoned. It had a nice flavour profile and the Ginger Orange Sauce was spot on and delicious .it had a nice sweet and tangy taste.. New York Style Cheese Cake: This cheese cake is probably the best New York Style Cheese Cake I had. The cheesecake just melts in your mouth Red Velvet Cheese Cake: The Red Velvet Cheese Cake was soo delicious. It had the perfect sweetness and the Cream Cheese frosting just melts...

Me and You - The fruity bubbly mocktail that instantly gives you a taste of the tropics. Fresh mango juice punched with ginger, peach syrup and soda.

Offside - Vibrant colours of watermelon and soothing taste of coconut water bring the freshness of tropical flair.

Match - Refreshing icy cold fruit packed Strawberry, Kiwi, Litchi with sparkling soda and lemonade - an exotic flavour that's impossible to beat.

Oreo Overload - Just fall in love with this amazing madness of oreo. Delicious OREO milkshake topped with homemade sweetened whipped cream, chocolate syrup and drizzled with crushed Oreo cookies.

Garlic soup in Bread Bowl - Treat yourself to this warm bowl of cream of garlicy chicken soup in a delicious bread bowl that offers a smooth rich flavour.

Bhut Jolokia Chicken Wings - Eating this hottest chilli pepper of the world is a challenge. The Bhut jolokia, also known as ghost chilli pepper or ghost jolokia or Naga chilli hails from the Northeast Indian states. Chicken wings dunked in the ghost chilli pepper sauce, garlic, corn syrup forming a thin crust on the meat making this appetizer super hot and smoky leaving your palate with a burning sensation.

Roasted Chilli Pork - This will always add an extra heartiness to your soul - spicy, tangy, slow-cooked pork slices tossed in onion, green onion, garlic, ginger, red chilli paste, soy sauce, sesame oil.

Crispy Schezwan Lamb - An info Chinese fusion starter. Shallow fried shredded lamb tossed with fresh homemade schezwan sauce. The juicy, tangy hot flavoured makes it very tempting.

Mochar Chop (Banana Flower Cutlet) - The famous street food stuffed with banana flower infused with rich Indian spices. Tasty with a sweet tinge at the edge.

Flambe Cheesy Chicken Pizza - Generous amount of dark rum is set to flame, poured over the thin-crusted cheesy chicken pizza that gives a slightly-burn taste with a great depth of flavours.

Laal Mas - The dish from the land of kings and 'laal maas' - Rajasthan. Lamb shacks braised in a gravy of yoghurt, finest grade of Mathaniya chillis, clove. Hot and spicy red coloured mutton curry with robust flavour and the smoky taste.

Chocolate Bomb - A show-stopping dessert with a rich, crunchy chocolate outside and vanilla ice cream inside the shell. Simply unforgettable.
