⭐ 1/5 — Extremely Disappointing Family Dining Experience
We visited Siraj Golden Restaurant, Chinar Park yesterday for dinner with my family — my father, mother, wife, and our child. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely unpleasant from start to finish.
We ordered Veg Kola Puri, Butter Roti, Fish Rashmi Tikka Kabab, Grilled Chicken (Full), and Lassi. The quality of food was far below expectations.
Veg Kola Puri was the worst we’ve ever had. There were practically NO VEGETABLES in it — only onions and capsicum floating in a bowl of gravy. Despite repeatedly requesting (3–4 times, both in Bengali and Hindi) to avoid coriander leaves, they completely ignored the request and still added them. When we complained, the dish was just taken back and “re-served” with no improvement.
Fish Rashmi Tikka Kabab was equally disappointing. Before ordering, we confirmed whether the fish was fresh, and the staff assured us it was. In reality, it was tasteless, lacked spices, and the fish quality was very poor.
Grilled Chicken was half-cooked and bland. No seasoning, no proper grilling — just undercooked meat.
Even the Lassi failed to meet basic standards.
To make things worse, when we asked to speak to the manager, he brushed off our complaint instead of taking it seriously. The prices are high for what they serve, and the food quality is well below average.
Overall, it was a terrible dining experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this place if you’re planning a family dinner. Find other restaurants nearby that offer good food and respectful service for the same or even...

I have always been a fan of Siraz’s Mughlai items, but this new outlet at Chinar Park was a letdown. The first thing that struck me was the overpowering room fragrance, which clashed with the natural aroma of food and felt quite unpleasant in a dining setting.
Service was also below expectations — the salads were served midway through the meal, and only after repeated follow-ups, instead of being served upfront.
As for the food, the Mutton Rogan Josh was particularly disappointing. The pieces were small, had very little meat, and lacked the rich flavour one usually expects from this dish. We even had to request a change, but the taste still fell short. The Shahi Mutton Stew was somewhat better — acceptable, but nothing remarkable.
Overall, the experience didn’t live up to Siraz’s reputation, and I hope they work on both their service and food quality spefically for the Chinar park location where other mughlai players are...
Read moreVisited Shiraj Golden Restaurant on Nabami night. The place was very crowded, and I had to wait around 30 minutes for a dine-in table — understandable during the festive rush.
I ordered Mutton Biriyani, Mutton Chap, Reshmi Malai Kebab, Hariyali Kebab, Butter Naan, and Pheni Sweet. I’ve had their biriyani many times before, but this time it didn’t quite live up to their usual reputation — probably due to the crowd. The Mutton Chap was excellent as always, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The Reshmi Malai Kebab was soft, creamy, and delicious, while the Hariyali Kebab tasted average that day. The Pheni Sweet was absolutely delightful — rich in flavour and perfectly balanced in sweetness.
Overall, despite the festive rush, the service was decent and the staff handled things well. I understand taste may vary on such busy days, but Shiraj Golden still remains one of my favourite restaurants for Mughlai cuisine. I’ll definitely visit again for their signature dishes and...
