Bali's Rooftop Lounge — Restaurant in Chandigarh

Came into the city with a Gurgaon type vibe, took a hotel room in the same hotel where Bali’s is a rooftop restaurant. Changed into comfortable clothes and went upstairs to book a table.. the place was packed so I told the waiter that we have a room just downstairs the lounge and gave him my contact number as well as my room number to give me a call in my room as soon as a table was free.. this was at 9 pm.. and having driven all the way from gurgaon we were already very hungry.. we waited for about 2 hours for a call back but non came.. just before closing time I went upstairs to check what the problem was.. this was 10 mins before 11 pm (which is apparently their closing time) and as I entered the place I saw empty tables everywhere, and the lounge owner sitting in the front of the bar looking at me as I come up, and explicitly telling his manager even as I am in earshot “Refuse him”.. I reach the guy and tell him that I have been waiting for 2 hours, and he looked me up and down condescendingly..that’s when I understood the problem..since I was occupying the same hotel, I had changed into comfortable shorts and a t-shirt.. I told him that it was a matter of a call, I would have changed into something more appropriate immediately had they called my room and informed me.. I came back to the room, changed into trousers and a formal shirt and rushed upstairs again to be told that it was last order time.. so I rushed into a pasta and felt extremely uneasy about the whole situation.. even through finishing the pasta the staff stood all around me to remind me that I had already passed the closing time and it would be better if I packed up and left.. felt so ashamed about the whole situation.. sometimes don’t even understand if hospitality industry is there to serve us or are we there...

Very disappointed ..it was my 1st business trip in Chandigarh India & I choose this restaurant for my dinner,I walked in & try to reserve a table for after half an hour …one man seems like manager or the owner was there he said no need to reserve the table will be available, after half an hour I went back, no host was there to attend any arrival Guest, I walked in suddenly one man stop by us and said this table is reserved but the fact there was no reserved template over there we stand for a while & I approach to get a table & insist to sit where no one was there but they said we were not allowed to sit Cz it was for 6 pax … few distance away there was a couple who was celebrating their birthday they said once they leave we can sit there & hold us for other 20 minutes till that moment no menu was served all the waiter & manager were binding up their hands and standing & talking ..but no one bothers to assist or talk to us to Engage …after a while I called the same guy who had apprehended us I called him he came and said this table is for 6 pax he can’t give it to 2pax ..I wonder he was ready to loose the customer for those who haven’t arrived till then ….then I left the Restuarant…it was very disgusting felling …I will never recommend any one to visit such kind of restaurant who treats NRI differently …ridiculous …They spoiled my whole evening & a felling for Chandigadh …Disgusting...

Made a reservation for open air, rooftop seating, 3 hours prior to reaching which they confirmed the booking on call itself. Upon arrival, we were asked to sit inside the hall because whoever took the call "forgot" to write it down in their book. Then we were (very rudely) told to speak to the owner who himself did not pick up the call even though we could see him standing, holding his phone. After 30 minutes of unnecessary inconvenience, we finally got a place to sit. We had to get an additional chair because it was difficult to make conversation because of the loud music, and soon we were asked to vacate the seat because the adjoining table had to be moved. That would have been alright if they had not given our chair to the next table and added multiple solo chairs to a lot of other tables. It was as if they were intentionally trying to make us uncomfortable. We will definitely not go to this place again, not would we recommend it to others who are wanting to have a nice night out with their friends/family. Rude and unfriendly staff, not helpful at all. Food is above average but highly overpriced as...
