Recently, I visited one of the oldest shops in town with my family, a place I had heard a lot about over the years. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
To start with, the tables were filthy, and the overall cleanliness of the place was unacceptable. The service was just as bad—staff seemed uninterested, and the lady at the counter behaved as if she was doing us a favor by taking our order.
We ordered Chole Bhature, and the quality was terrible. The oil used for frying was clearly old, making the food taste stale. Additionally, there were no sides provided—no pickles, onions, or chilies—which are usually expected with this dish. We also ordered Gajar ka Halwa, but they didn’t serve it. When I inquired about it while leaving, the lady at the counter pretended she had no idea about the missing item.
Overall, the experience was terrible. Poor cleanliness, bad service, and substandard food make this a place I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Save your time and money—there are far better...
Read moreI have never liked this sweet shop. The salesmen are rude and swindle you out of money for sweets. The neighbouring Nand sweets is a much better option. Gobind sweets has a below average preparation but too much pomp and show in their shop which unfortunately fails to make up for their poor quality of sweets and lack of honest service. They will not let go of any opportunity to cheat you while packing your sweets or while taking your money. The prices are even higher than Gopal's, which is the best sweet shop in Chandigarh. I wouldn't mind paying that high price provided I got my money's worth but their preparation is just average and nothing turns you off than paying 30 bucks extra for a pao of dhokla, which btw is priced at a hefty 280 Rs/Kg. This one salesman sitting on the counter once even asked for my PIN to enter into the swipe machine, on refusing to give it to him he made faces at me which was wierd. I wouldn't recommend you to buy any sweets from here. Try the neighbouring Nand...
Read moreHorrible experience. Went to this shop for the first time. Bought 2 boxes of sweets and 4 boxes of cookies, owner told me to pay 2000 bucks however everything was worth 1890. I paid at first instance as I was in hurry. Came to know about total amount when I calculated the same later. They took 30 minutes to pack to boxes of sweets. The boxes were in horrible condition. Also the owner tried his best to ignore when I asked for the bill. Worst experience. Highly disappointed as Gobind is known as a brand and I'm socked to see that they lie about the total amount also horrible services. I was emarrarassed to gift those boxes to my relatives as they were in such a horrible condition underneath the wrapping papar. God is watching over you thugs Gobind. Each penny counts as it is hard earned money....
