Unchi Dukaan, Fika Pakwan – But Hey, the Broccoli Rocked!
Updated August 2025 (previously 5/5 few years ago)
Visited this spot in Sector 9, and wow, the service is like a five-star hotel – super friendly, and the place is so clean and stylish, you'd think they're auditioning for an interior design award. Open 24/7? Genius! Perfect for those midnight munchies when you're craving a latte (which was actually pretty good, by the way – recommend it if you're just here for caffeine therapy).
Now, the food adventure: The Alfredo Veg Pasta was a total winner – deliciously creamy, and get this, even the broccoli tasted like it had a spa day! Who knew greens could be this fun? Highly recommend if you want to feel like a pasta pro.
But then... the Veg Pesto. Oh boy, it was like they dumped a basil farm into the sauce and called it a day. Overpowering basil takeover – where'd the other flavors hide? We ended up wasting it all. Mediocre at best, or as I'd say, "Pesto? More like 'Rest-O' in peace."
The Veg Lasagna? Disaster on a plate. Barely any layers, just a strong, confusing flavor bomb of one random veggie and condiment. Sauce? What sauce? Hands down the worst lasagna I've ever met – it was like eating a sad, flat sandwich pretending to be Italian.
Cake Pop got a 6.5/10 from my daughter, so it's kid-approved (barely). And the Blueberry Cheesecake? More like "Creamcake Surprise" – zero cheese vibe, but in Chandigarh, it's at least an option if you're desperate.
Overall, this place has the hype of a rockstar but delivers like a backup singer. Lost its charm for me and the fam – unchi dukaan, fika pakwan indeed! Still, props for the cleanliness and that killer pasta. Might return for coffee and vibes, but skipping the pesto drama next time. 😂

We went there as a party of two to get some teacakes after having a decent lunch at The Virgin Courtyard. We entered from the back entrance. What brought us in was the good reviews and the proximity to our place of lunch. There was a huge variety of desserts available. The exorbitant rates really didn't bother me as I am always ready to pay if the quality is good but that was not the case here. We ordered one chocolate tea cake (500g) and one vanilla tea cake (400g). The total cost was around Rs 1100/- When we cut into the cakes after reaching our home we were shocked to see absolutely ZERO chocolate inside the cake. The only chocolate that was present was sprinked at the top and that too is compound(chocolate flavoured vegetable oil) in all probability. After close inspection, I came to onow that the cakes were made by some 3rd party bakery. In my opinion, an expert baker from Australia should know better than this. Trying to earn huge profits by compromising quality won't take you far. The chocolate cake tasted worse than readymade Pillsbury cake. The vanilla cake was better than this but nothing extraordinary.
Overall, very bad experience. Not...
Read moreOne of my favourite cafes in the tricity. The place is one of the oldest places to kickstart the cafe culture in Chandigarh. The place is known to offer the healthiest versions of your favourite meals. The entire range of shakes and savouries is just amazing. The proportion of the meals is just apt and one dish with something to drink is enough for one person. The place is also known to offer some really good variety of quality biscuits, cakes, and breads. The place has kept up with its standard and quality which is a rate sight today with so much competition and a new place coming up every other day. It's safe to say that Nik Baker's is a must visit for all those coming here even the ones who have one of the outlets in their city. The vibe of all the outlets is very relaxed and soothing. It's a perfect place for a get together with friends, your loved ones or...
