I visited this cafe on a Sunday 2 weeks ago and the experience was beyond pathetic. There was a one hour waiting post which they will give you a table and if you want to eat at an outdoors table (you know because of Covid), then you will have to again stand in the queue to the order because if you choose an outdoors table, you are defaulted to a take-away order, and you will be getting the food in take-away containers, even though you are sitting in the restaurant’s boundary - so much for trying to be eco-friendly with compostable cutlery and containers. Once they took the order, the person in-charge blatantly says you have to wait atleast 40 minutes to wait for food even though post 3pm (which is when we got the table), you have a limited menu of street type food like vada pav, momos, shakes etc. Another interesting part to this take away order thing is that you cannot stand at the takeaway spot but the guy will shout your name which you should listen from a far away spot or the person will call in an area where there is little to no network. After waiting for 50 minutes or so, we get to know that our order has been given to someone else (or atleast that was a convenient reply given our order slip was not even there with them). And this was not just the case for us. A bunch of other people were also waiting similarly for an order and the management was so deaf that a lady beside me literally went from a soft voice to a shouting voice by saying same thing 5 or 6 times while the incharge was just doing something else right in front of us. To add insult to injury, other order slips were keep getting printed and almost falling from the table while the management was having a jolly good time doing almost nothing about it. We got our order I think after an 1 hr and 10 min, for which when the person got serious, got the food to us in 5 min, that also after shouting continuously for 20 min. When I confronted them to give a compensation for wasting so much time and a substandard service, they went deaf again and did nothing about it. The food was not that great and I would recommend anyone coming to Sunder Nagar nursery to instead try eating at the farmer’s market or get a picnic basket instead of wasting money and energy for a pathetic experience. I wish I could give negative stars for...
Read moreJust because of the ambiance of this place, made me give it 3 stars. The cafe is located in the beautiful Sundar Nursery, surrounded by lush greenery and a lake, making it a perfect picturesque spot.
They have a variety of coolers, shakes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and a few dessert options on their menu, which is curated by Chef Sunil Chauhan.
Ambiance⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ambiance of the cafe is fantastic, especially during winter when you can sit outdoors, soak up the sun, and enjoy the stunning nature views with the lake and greenery. Food⭐⭐ However, when it comes to the food, we were a bit confused as they have two menus at premises, and one of them offers fewer items than they actually have. It was difficult to understand what they were trying to offer. We ordered a salad called smoke paneer tikka salad, but it was below average and didn't taste like tikka at all. It was just pieces of paneer with celery leaves toasted with green chutney. The ice-cold coffee was okay, and the shikanji was fine too. Service ⭐ The service was a bit confusing as well. We weren't sure if it was self-service or seated dining. We had to call the staff multiple times to take our orders, and they seemed more focused on calling each other instead of attending to us.
Overall, the experience wasn't that great. It could be because it was a busy weekend or maybe they always operate like this, we're not sure. I hope they take note and organize themselves better to match the scenic environment they're in.
PS: Please note that there is an entry fee of INR 50 to enter...
Read moreDon't eat here! Bad food and vary limited choices! You rather go to Khan Market to eat .. it's just 10min away
This was my first time at Fab Cafe and I will NEVER GO AGAIN!!
We went here today around 1pm ... Firstly there were not many food options ... I didn't feel like eating any of the things that were on the menu .. but we were very hungry so we ordered.
We ordered a paneer sandwitch, a chicken pav sandwich thing, a vanila cold coffee, and a brownie with ice cream
The WORST WAS BROWNIE WITH ICECREAM!! The brownie was so hard that we couldn't break it with our spoon .. we had to bute into it to break it ..
The cold coffee came in a bottle and it looked like they made and filled it into bottles 4-5 days ago and just took it out of the fridge to serve it today ... It was completely flat
The chicken pav sandwich was not good The paneer sandwitch was the only thing that was decent but even that wasn't fresh
Everything came in this paper cardboard take away (A LOT OF WASTE WAS BEING PRODUCED! I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE)
Nothing tasted fresh ... Everything seemed like they just put it in a microwave in the take-away box and brought it to us!
We spent around Rs.1,600 on this and none of it was worth it. Later we went to khan market (10min away) and realised we made a big mistake!
The location is nice if you just want to sit there and just drink a coffee (though not sure how that would be) .. but you can enjoy the location from sundar nursery side without coming to the...
