It's unfortunate to say that Mazar Restaurant claims to represent Afghan cuisine and culture, but in reality, it falls far short. As a native Afghan with over three decades of experience with authentic homeland food, I was deeply disappointed with the quality and quantity of the dishes served here.

I visited for the first time, coming from the UK, and invited three Indian friends to join me for dinner. Here's how our experience went:

Entry Experience: The young host, around 15-16 years old, was polite and accommodating, quickly arranging a table for us. This was the only positive aspect of the entire visit—10/10 for their effort. Service: Unfortunately, the male Afghan waiter who served us lacked any positive energy or politeness. He took our order with rudeness, without any courtesy or respect. Food Quality and Presentation: The food was not served in any particular order; everything came out mixed and haphazardly. Here's what we ordered and the issues we faced: Chicken Soup with Afghan Bread: We ordered four starters, but the bread never arrived. Mantu (dumplings): This dish was served last, which was confusing and disappointing. Kabuli Palau: The portion was small, with one piece of meat that was mostly bones (60%) and inedible parts. Red Beans: A tiny portion—literally two teaspoons' worth. A complete embarrassment. Lamb Curry: Again, a small bowl with one piece of meat that was mostly bones. It had some spice, but the overall portion was underwhelming. Bread: We had to ask repeatedly for bread, and it still arrived late. Payment Experience: As is common among Muslims, particularly Afghans, my friends and I had a polite disagreement over who would pay the bill. The man behind the counter, who appeared to be in his late 30s to late 40s, rudely told us to "take your payment issue outside," without even standing up to address us properly. My friend was embarrassed by this behavior. To top it all off, a few hours after the meal, I suffered from food poisoning and had to seek emergency medical treatment. I have hospital documentation to confirm this.

In conclusion, I strongly advise all potential visitors to avoid this place. Mazar Restaurant does not deserve to represent Afghan food or the Afghan community. The experience was nothing short...

My recent visit to Mazaar, a restaurant specializing in Afghani cuisine, left much to be desired. The culinary experience, touted to be a delightful journey through Afghan flavors, fell short of expectations due to subpar food quality and frequent order mix-ups.

Starting with the food, I anticipated a rich tapestry of Afghan flavors that would transport me to the vibrant streets of Kabul or Kandahar. Unfortunately, the reality was far from it. The dishes lacked the authenticity and finesse one would expect from a restaurant claiming expertise in Afghani cuisine. The flavors were muted, and the overall quality of the food left me questioning the authenticity of the culinary experience.

Compounding the disappointment was the recurring issue of incorrect orders. It seemed as though there was a consistent disconnect between what was ordered and what was served. This not only disrupted the dining experience but also reflected poorly on the restaurant's attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Equally disheartening was the response—or lack thereof—from the staff when I attempted to address these concerns. Rather than acknowledging the issues and offering a sincere apology, the staff appeared more engrossed in their own conversations. This lack of attentiveness to customer feedback and the apparent disinterest in rectifying mistakes highlighted a significant gap in the restaurant's commitment to providing a positive dining experience.

In the competitive landscape of culinary establishments, customer service plays a pivotal role in shaping perceptions. Mazaar, unfortunately, fell short on this front. A restaurant's success is not solely determined by the quality of its dishes but also by its ability to address customer concerns with professionalism and genuine care.

In conclusion, my visit to Mazaar was marred by subpar food quality, frequent order mix-ups, and an indifferent response from the staff. It is my hope that the restaurant takes these criticisms constructively and works towards improving both the culinary offerings and the overall dining experience for...

Mazaar surpassed all my expectations and left me with an unforgettable dining experience! The warm and cozy atmosphere, coupled with their efficient service, made for a truly delightful visit. There's usually a medium waiting line on Sundays, so go early! Mazaar offers two seating options: Sofas and Raised Platform. We were fortunate enough to secure a spot on their raised platform seating, which elevated our experience even further. We ordered their renowned Qabuli Uzbeki and Mutton Chopan. What surprised me pleasantly was the complimentary side of Afghan/Uzbeki Naan/Bread, Bharta, and Rajma that accompanied our meal! Although I may not know the exact names, they were very delicious. Let's talk about the Mutton Chopan, one of the most remarkable kebabs I have ever tasted. Each bite revealed the perfect harmony of flavors, as the meat melted in my mouth with tenderness and succulence. The portion size was generous too. The Qabuli Uzbeki, a culinary masterpiece, exemplified the rich and aromatic essence of Afghan cuisine. The delicate blend of spices and the tenderly cooked rice showcased the culinary expertise of the chef. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Mazaar to anyone seeking an authentic Afghan culinary adventure. Not only does the restaurant offer an inviting ambiance and efficient service, but the flavors and quality of the dishes are truly exceptional.
