I have been reading and hearing about Pete's Deli for a very long time. Finally managed to visit them last weekend. And we are so glad we did.
They have the best sandwiches, ever. We first ordered the Pastrami. When it was placed in front of me, I thought it would be too bready...but the panini was amazingly soft, and turned out to be the perfect vehicle for the Pastrami ( available only only the weekend, I am told). And what a fantastic sandwich it was.
My husband andI shared it. Of course it was not enough so we ordered the best-selling item ( according to them), the Cubano. This comes in a potato roll bread ( bread made with potato starch). Another soft and light sandwich with generous filling of honey ham, pork roast, cheese and pickles.
The best part was that we did not feel stuffed after our meal. The bread etc. is made in-house and one can tell it is fresh.
A separate note of appreciation for the grainy mustard....it was fabulous with just the right hit!
We already have made a mental note to make another trip there soon, to taste some of their other interesting...
Read morePete's give you the typical American Deli vibe as you enter the place. The kind of a place that you usual see in American shows and movies, especially the ones set in NYC.
The eatery is a bit small and cosy with a couple of table to seat about 8 people and some seats and high stools adjacent to the wall for people who want to grab a quick bite.
I started of my meal with a Lemon Iced Tea to cool off on a hot and humid afternoon. This was followed by a Cubano Sandwich which I upgraded to a meal with an additional 100 bucks. The meal included the Cubano Sandwich with a side of coleslaw, crinkle cut fries and a pickle.
Made with Honey Ham, Pork Roast, Emmental Cheese, Garlic Butter, Mustard and Pickles, this sandwich at Pete’s was quite memorable. The meat inside was juicy and flavourful with the cheese perfectly complimenting the textures and the taste.
I’m very happy that I got to explore this place that does such good sandwiches. Pete’s Deli is just about a year old and if you ask them, they’ll tell you how many days it’s been since...
Read moreUpdate - We went here to eat recently after a long time. While the food is still top notch, unfortunately, for us the biggest issue was the changed seating arrangement. They had comfortable seating before, but with the new arrangement there are only two proper tables that were full at the time. The rest of the tables are so small with high bar stools without any cushioning, so so uncomfortable to sit on to eat a food that requires both your hands. Especially hard for plus size people like us. We understand it's in tune with the theme of a deli but the seats need to be comfortable, that's a non negotiable. Really dampened the whole experience. Imagine sitting to eat excellent food only to constantly be scared of falling off the high bar stools!
Review from 1 year ago - Pete's Deli had quickly become my go to place for heavenly sandwiches. Have tried 4-5 different sandwiches - NY chopped cheese, Cubano, Three cheese melt, Italian Delight, Grilled Pesto, each one is excellent! Fresh ingredients, fresh condiments, it's a great...
