Punjab Grill Defence Colony — Restaurant in Delhi

This is newly opened in Defence Colony and honestly, this has been the worst experience ever in Punjab Grill. The quality of service was pathetic. We were a group of 15-16 to celebrate a pre-booked b’day (package - fixed menu) and the staff was not able to manage at all to say the least. The servers were not attentive at all and we had to call them multiple times to serve the food. Had to remind them to serve mocktails. They were not even keen to serve to guests rather were keeping the serving tray somewhere on the table and leaving. Didn’t even bother to clear table didn’t serve complete menu - no raita, no papad. Had to request even for onion multiple times. Took a lot of time to serve the food. A lot of waiting.

No professionalism in behavior neither they were courteous. Two of the senior staff members Jai Prakash and Sonu committed impeccable experience and I believe that’s what they had to offer.

Would never want to visit them again. Better would be to order online and have at home to have better experience.

See pic - number of uncleared glasses on the table. Ras malai served in plates instead of bowl (which was specifically mentioned during pre-booking) and gajar halwa just kept on the table and no one to serve.

I visited the Punjab Grill restaurant, Defence Colony, Delhi, with my family (4 pax) on 15th May 2024 for dinner. It was such a disastrous experience. The place has a cover seating of 75 pax but don't have the staff to cater to the guests. Only 2 servers to take orders, serve guests and preparing the bill. We were told staff is on leave. We waited for 1/2 an hour to be attended to. After repeated asking for water we were served in the Mocktail glasses. They took endlessly to take the order and we waited endlessly for 45 mins for our order. We lost our appetite & interest to eat. We ordered mocktails too which the server conveniently forgot. Food was very average. Dal makhni, palak paneer, palak chaat, kulchas, Lotus stem kababs and rice. They offered saunf mishri after dinner to other tables but forgot to serve us. They don't have the staff nor can the kitchen cope with the food ordered. They were in total 4 tables occupied including ours. The manager apologized for the late service but guests come to eat after a hard day's work and any kind of excuse is not acceptable in the hospitality sector. Visiting on a weekend was a mistake—what should’ve been an enjoyable dinner turned into complete chaos. The place felt cramped and poorly managed, the staff seemed overwhelmed, basic service like serving water was repeatedly missed, and the food arrived cold. It felt more like a frenzy than a dining experience.
