SONA SWEETS : PURE VEGETARIAN PARADISE — Restaurant in Delhi

Pay more for worse serivce. That seems to be the tagline here as they charge you about 35-50% more for the same food which they offer at their other outlets. But price point is secondary issue here cause we expect better service when we are paying more, but what if you don't get that service? or worse, you get pathetic service? I ordered idli sambar, it took them little more than 10 minutes, which was suprising cause idlis are not something which are made against order. Anyway, on enquiring why it's taking so long, one of the guy informed me that it is coming from their other outlet (where it is about 50% cheaper). After a while i did recieve it, and as i went for the first bite, i noticed that the plastic spoon which they offered gave way and failed to dig into the hard idli they had offered. so i asked for a better spoon, which they didn't have. Then i talked to the shift manager, and he gave me quite a few different reasons. First he told me that their account sections sends plastic cuttlery only. So the obvious question was if someone is paying more for the same food which is available at cheaper price at their other outlet then won't he expect better service? he had no answer to this question so he tried to deflect the issue sayin that this is "self service" restaurant and this is why they use one time use plastic cuttlery only and this response baffled me that what's the connection? So i asked him, and he explained that the meaning of "self service" is that customers can pick their order and go and eat in their car, or park, or anywhere they like. And this is where i realised that he is not from the hospitality industry cause one expects that such basic definitions are taught in ordinary institute, so there was no point talking to him anymore and i asked them to pack my...

This place is situated inside Nehru Place IT Market. Place is good. Wel maintained, enough sitting capacity, good sanitation and healthy environment. No early booking is required. Online payments are acceptable. A wide range of menu is available for breakfast, lunch, brunch, snacks, dinner or dessert. Quality of foods delivered is good. This place is moderately expensive. This place can not be visited by Car. This place is wheelchair accessible. It doesn't have a rest room. No non vegetarian foods are not served here. Vegan foods are also available. This place is on ground floor. Outdoor tables are also available but there are no sitting area on outside. Also outside area is not so clean as they have placed their dustbins there as wel. One should try to visit this place in between 11 AM and 3 PM. As before this timing there is a chance that items on the menu are not ready and after this timing items are finished. This place offers both dine in and take out options. On week days this place is moderately crowded so it might be possible that one can find sitting area full but it won't be a long...

We had a nice evening snacks & tea at the Sona restaurant on 1st floor. Its small & hygienic. The server was good sales person. We had tea, pakodas, gajar ka halwa, gulabjamun. Tea was not good & not as was requested for but they did make it for us again. Pakodas were crispy but quite oily. Gajrela was quite delicious with oodles of ghee and sugar. Gulab jamun was good.
