Read moreDelhi meri Jaan, Delhi ka Punjabi Khaana mera Abhimaan... Just trying my hands on some tukbandi.. But trust me i have not seen many food outlet in entire Delhi NCR which has such high footfall and Turnover. People just come to Nehru place to enjoy the Punjabi Khana. The outlet is run by family members and is more than 50 years in a business. They don't need an IIM graduate to boost their sales and market their product. Simple.. Word to Mouth publicity and delivering on two things, Price and Quality. I was introduced to New Punjabi Khana by my friend 5 years back and since then i am hooked onto one item, SAHI PANEER and RICE. When you see an iceberg size of soft juicy paneer floating in red smooth Gravy and covering the entire white surface of the rice then your mouth is bound to water. I have been hooked onto this temptation. During lunch time and please be informed the lunch rush starts from 12 pm till 3 pm and people from nearby offices, shops occasional traveller like me just throng the place. You don't mind if you are standing and eating or having a heavy bag on your shoulder and with plates in hand you are enjoying the melody in your mouth of rich taste. They have now extended the outlet and have made a sitting place for the comfort of the eaters. Most of the lunch items are like, Rajma chawal, chole chawal, sahi paneer Chawal, kadi pakda and mostly in a range of 70 Rs a plate . Do try their fried papad as well and not to mention the complimentary salad dipped in mint flavoured dahi. Next time you are their please try the food once. Outlets like them are really a...
Read moreNew punjabi khana is very famous modern day dhaba at Nehru Place. It is so famous that almost every one who comes to Nehru place tries the food at least once. Ambiance: This outlet can not be called chic or upmarket, As I said it is modern day Dhaba with self service. You need to order your choice, pay in cash, take the plate and sit at adjacent shop, with sitting arrangements. or there are tables placed outside the outlet so you can eat while standing. 2 out of 5 Food: The main attraction is the quality of food. They became famous mainly for their SHAHI PANEER RICE where you will be amazed to see the size of Paneer (Cottage cheese) they give at this rate (currently 85 per plate) Quality is of food is very simple, its more like Home made food. No extra spices and oil. I tried their Yellow Daal and Paneer and I liked that. I've heard the good reviews from other for rest of food items. Kheer, Raita was fresh, I was not disappointed. 4 out of 5 for food. Price: The price range is quite affordable, i.e. one can have meal starting as low as Rs. 50. 5 out of 5 for Rate Over all 3.5 stars from my end out of five.
