An amazing restaurant to have some great Mughlai/ Indian & Chinese food. I had no idea that this amazing place is hidden inside the Green Park area somewhere till today!
What an amazing experience it has been. The staff was extremely welcoming and well-mannered. They took very good care of us, especially Mr. Harish, who took our order and made sure we were always comfortable. Also, the ambience was very nice. Unlike many restaurants that have extremely dim lighting in the name of "mood", this place cheers you up! Bright lights, beautiful interiors, comfy seats, all come together to make the entire experience totally worthwhile. And I haven't even started on the food that they serve!
Right then, coming to the main part - food; we ordered a couple of platters to start the evening off - a vegetarian & a non-vegetarian. Both the platters contained more than enough varieties of starters plus it tasted just the way I expected. Also, the presentation was mouth-watering.
After gobbling it all, we ordered main course - daal makhani, jeera aalu, egg curry, jeera rice. We wanted to keep it simple yet classy. Hence, the choices that you see above. The main course was wonderful. Of special mention is the daal makhani; if you ever have food at The ClayOven, you MUST try the daal makhani. Absolutely brilliant is the word! The jeera aalu, egg curry and even the jeera rice tasted nice. We also kept our drinks very simple - a soda lemonade and a mint lemonade plus one beer just to "spice" things up a bit!
Well, jokes aside, The ClayOven is one wonderful fine-dining place to have lunch/ dinner with your loved ones. It might be a tad difficult to locate, but thanks to Google Maps, nothing is "difficult to locate" these days.
We had a wonderful time at this restaurant & I am sure you all would...
Read moreFirst off - you'd think this is a bit heavy on your pocket, but trust me it's worth everything. There's no point going to a cheaper place if the quality of food and service is going to be considerably lower.
Food - By far the best I've had in this category. For a place that offers both, their veg dishes were equally amazing. I highly recommend veg seekh kebabs, mushrooms, tandoori fish for starters, and paneer makhani along with boneless chicken and mutton biryani for a main course, served with butter naans.
Service - Hygienic, polite, and prompt. Remember to go at non-peak hours for the best experience.
Crowd - Absolutely nil. We went at 1:30PM, and were the only table on for the day at that time. Recommended to go in the day, on weekdays.
Accessibility - Easily reachable by car, not far from metro stations on multiple lines.
Ambience - right amounts of elegant and contemporary, one of the best for non-themed restaurants.

Like in old age, people use to cook food in clay made ovens, you will get similar sense here.
We started our evening with Honkons and Spring Rolls which were very crispy with mouth watering filling.
Later, we ordered Dahi Bhalla which was beating BTW and other big vendors.
We also ordered Spinich potatoes which were fried topped with fried crispy Spinich. That was best appetiser of the evening.
We ordered Balleys, Virgin Mohito and Blue lagoon and those were very pocket friendly and good in flavour drinks.!
In mains, we ordered butter chicken, Palak Paneer, Shahi Paneer and Acahari Chaap.
I liked Achari Chaap most and its my personal recommendation.
Overall, I recommend Oven Clay as one time must go place with very decent hospitality, quick service and value...
