A description of the location
In the Main Market of M Block, Greater Kailash Part 1, Third Wave Coffee (GK1) can be found. Rather than being near or close to the heart of South Delhi, TWC is very much in the heart of the South Delhi and amidst all the action. Within walking distance of Kailash Colony Metro Station and the food capital of the NCR.
Hours of operation:
Their operating hours are long. The restaurant opens at 7:30 AM and accepts orders until 11:30 PM. On weekends, reservations are required, on other days, they are recommended. You can get breakfast all day long there.
The Ambience:
There is something stunning about the main hall. They are well-appointed, but under financial pressure, they are too close to fine-dining to be called such. A well-maintained chair and table are available. If you would like some privacy, request a table near the window when you make your reservation.
The Service:
Skilled, trained and experienced hands with their knowledge, respect and regard shows if they wouldn’t have misguided on service charge issue, I would have surely written one full page on them. They do take food orders real nicely and know menu by heart but, they won’t give you a voluntary heads-up if you are ordering more than you can eat.
The Price:
Rs 500/- for one, and that to without any alcoholic beverages places them at par with other fine dining restaurants and eateries fancied for ceremonial dinners and lunches.
Food:
Exhaustive, expansive, world cuisine, something for everyone and same signature dishes. Unquestionably, serving this full a menu and churning out every dish to tastes of guests which, in all their shapes, sizes, gender, color and nationalities, is nothing short of catering to microcosm...
Read moreThe first time I tried third-wave coffee, it felt like stepping into a whole new world of flavor. I walked into this tiny, minimalist café with the subtle hum of a well-calibrated espresso machine in the background. The barista was a coffee enthusiast who walked me through the process, explaining how each bean was sourced and how the brew method would highlight its unique flavors.
I opted for a pour-over, and as I watched the water slowly filter through the grounds, I could tell there was something intentional about every step. The coffee hit my tongue with a clarity I’d never experienced before. It was smooth, bright, and layered with hints of fruit and floral notes that I didn’t even know coffee could have. The aftertaste lingered, almost like a pleasant surprise, making me want to take another sip.
I was used to the bold, almost burnt flavors of mass-market coffee, so the delicate, nuanced taste was eye-opening. It felt like I had unlocked a new level of appreciation for coffee, where the beans weren’t just a base for caffeine, but a story in every cup. I was hooked—eager to try different single-origin coffees, methods, and learn more about what made each cup so unique. Specially credit goes to John and tavisk Who are gave me...
Read moreWas meeting some friends travelling to Delhi from mumbai and were floating around in the GK market // yep one of the few high street markets left around // sometimes you just don’t want to go inside a mall. Moreover the Bombayites were staying close to GK and didn’t want them to go through the grind of the delhi city traffic. We were heading towards Starbucks when we saw the sign of this cafe and decided to try it. I have never been to this one before // although keep seeing them springing up around.
The place was welcoming enough for us to walk in // I like climbing stairs but this one was really good due to the low levels between the steps // something which needs to be mentioned. Climbing up was a breeze is really friendly for even those who don’t like climbing stairs.
The coffee was also nice. But the order took a lot of time, we weren’t complaining though since we were anyways there to have long conversations. Although the seating is a bit haphazard and awkward I must say.
The order counter is also a bit too high is probably the only thing I found a bit odd. The staff was courteous as most cafés. Overall a nice place to...
