Dhe Puttu, located in Kochi, stands as a distinctive restaurant with a focus on South Indian cuisine, particularly the traditional Kerala dish, puttu. The establishment offers a nuanced dining experience that encompasses ambience, food quality, and service quality.
The ambience at Dhe Puttu is noteworthy, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, one aspect that may give some patrons pause is the pricing. Read moreVery disappointed. Sulaimani was tasty and hot, but when asked for hot water they insisted on purchasing a mineral water bottle. Actually I really needed hot water, the answer was the heater not working. I don't understand the logic. It was lunch time and the answer was not convincing for a family. How to eat puttu without water? They didn't even bother to fill the glass with water. Only 2 tables were occupied and all the staff were kind of acting busy!
After lunch asked for bill, so they handed over a hand written bill with added GST!
Phew!! I told them, while collecting GST this should not be the bill. The answer was computer not working. Once the computer works they will bill it and scrap the bill.
Looks like there is some issue between management and staff. Staff including stewardess and manager are acting arrogant to make sure the family customer is not happy at all.
Dhe Puttu is not at all as good as the old time hype.
If you cannot run it pls shut it. The concept Dhe puttu will be there forever.
Yuck!!! House flies every where.
Don't complaint while eating there if you notice silly things like "food not properly cooked" or "if you need a glass of water" they might SPIT in your next dish and will make you eat. So bad is their attitude towards customers.
Cherry on top of the cheese cake : House flies every where!!! Eat with them
Dhe puttu have lost its charm in all aspects from shabby menu card, non co operative environment. House flies and other insects not controlled. Old plates. Low quality in cleanliness. Old environment and non updated interiors. Non co operative security staff and so on.
If not able to run the show pls shut down.
For evidence pls check...
Read moreI recently visited Dhe Puttu restaurant and had a good meal there. I tried the wheat Puttu with kadala curry and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a nice ambience with plenty of seating and ample parking space, which is always a plus. Its prime location near Kochi Lulu Mall is also a great advantage.
However, the service was just average. During my meal, no one came to check if I needed anything else. Also, although there were many empty tables, I was asked to sit at a two-seater table, which was not comfortable for me. I believe that customers should be allowed to choose their tables when there is no rush.
Despite these shortcomings, I would definitely visit Dhe Puttu again for the food. I would like to try out the other Puttu varieties on the menu. Overall, it was a decent experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty meal.
Edit:
During my yesterday's visit to Dhe Puttu, I tried the chicken keema puttu, which unfortunately turned out to be just average. The chicken in the dish felt like it had been boiled and minced, making it dry and lacking in flavor. However, the service had noticeably improved from my previous visit. I was greeted warmly upon entering the restaurant, and the staff refilled my black tea twice and checked if I needed anything else.
Overall, my second experience at Dhe Puttu was better than my first, and I have increased my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars based on the improved service. While the chicken keema puttu may not have been the highlight of my meal, I plan to return to the restaurant and try other varieties of puttu on their menu. I would recommend Dhe Puttu to anyone in search of a decent...
