9Bar Goa Review
I visited 9Bar in Goa recently, hoping for a better experience than I had at House of Chapora last year. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be equally disappointing for different reasons.
The entry process started off fine, with a staff member politely explaining the rules, timings, and re-entry process. The bouncers conducted a thorough check at the entrance, which initially gave me confidence in their security measures. However, the events that followed completely contradicted this impression.
At around 2 a.m., I stepped out briefly to grab a drink from a nearby venue, Pappi Chulo, as the prices at 9Bar were quite steep. When I returned, I noticed something deeply unsettling—right near the bouncers at the entrance, a group of people were openly smoking marijuana. This was directly behind the area where we were stamped for re-entry. I confronted the bouncers about this blatant rule-breaking and asked if the same would be permitted for me. They panicked and instructed the group to move farther away, though they remained on 9Bar's property. This left me questioning the point of the initial security checks at the entrance.
The frustration escalated when I tried to re-enter with a beer from Pappi Chulo, considering the leniency I had just witnessed regarding illegal activities. A female bouncer stopped me, citing a rule against outside alcohol. When I pointed out the hypocrisy of allowing drug use while banning outside drinks, she became defensive. Instead of addressing my concerns, she resorted to personal attacks, accusing me of lacking "tameez" (decency) and creating an unnecessary scene.
The unprofessional and confrontational behavior of the staff, combined with the blatant double standards, completely ruined my experience. I chose to leave immediately, as I felt unwelcome and disrespected.
In conclusion, 9Bar needs to seriously reconsider its priorities and enforce its rules consistently. Allowing illegal activities while treating paying customers with hostility is unacceptable. I would not recommend this venue to anyone seeking a fair and enjoyable nightlife...
Read moreVery overly priced place. Bottled Aquafina will cost Rs200++ Imagine a can of beer or a cocktail. Same story continues for food, a chicken roll costing Rs500++.Only good for gigs. The washrooms are not maintained during gigs and worse than a public restroom. No sitting space during gigs they expect to stand for hours together, in middle of that if it rains then there's helter skelter to find shelter. It's like a stampede. The approach lanes are so narrow that commuting by bike is also a tedious task. Please park car at least 500 to 700 metres away from this venue and come walking. Drop pin on maps and save location for returning. We have spent almost 1.5 hours to get out of the traffic jam during satellite beachside festival and parked car 700 metres away from the venue. There's a huge parking next to Antares Club for all clubs in the vicinity, but getting in & out is a nightmare. The organizers should seriously look at guests convenience too and not thier own agendas. Hope this helps...
