A completely underrated place for the quality of food you get at this place. We tried surmai masala fry, surmai rawa fry, jeera rice, chicken Patiala, butter chicken, butter garlic naan, chicken tandoori, chicken hakka noodles, mojito and lemon water sweet over a span of 2 days and everything was well cooked and super tasty. At the looks of it you will find the place really shady and not worth a visit considering the clichés of beach side restaurant and shacks. This is located right in the middle of the palolem market Street and can go unnoticed if the advertisement board is not lit up. Average cost for 2 people is about rs. 500 and the quantity and quality of the food fits well for 2. Premium cocktails are priced at ₹250, regular cocktails are priced at ₹200 and mocktails are priced at ₹150. The food menu is priced at an average of ₹200 and the prices are reasonable. A perfect place for bag packers and guys on road trip or on limited budget if and only if you love food minus all the excellent views and beach...
Read moreHad a bad experience yesterday night. Went there at about 10-30 and found a sign saying last order at 10-30. Upon enquiring whether we'll be served food then, we were told that the last order sign was just for the local authorities and were promised that we'll get food. So we sat and our test of patience began. We ordered a red snapper fry, prawns masala, noodles and veg biryani. After about 25mins of placing the order we asked for the eta and were bluntly and told that it'll take time 30 mins more. Upon prodding further, came another blunt reply that order gets prepared one by one and will take time. After eternity our food arrived and expected it to worthwhile after the long wait. The red snapper fry was decent. All the other things were bad. Have you ever had biryani in dessert? That's what we had. Sweet biryani. The noodles and prawns masala weren't worth mentioning either. With the don't care about customer attitude, so so food this place is NOT...

We were walking along the beach, surrounded by resorts that felt far removed from authenticity, and asked a few fishermen where they would go for fresh fish. They pointed us to Ani, and what a discovery it was.
We enjoyed the catch of the day, prawns, and calamari—all exquisitely fresh and perfectly prepared. Ani himself was truly spectacular, and the whole staff, especially Sunny, our waiter, made us feel warmly welcomed. The place is also very clean and thoughtfully adapted for tourists, without losing its authentic charm.
This visit reminded us of a simple truth: food tastes better when it comes with a story, with kindness, and with a connection to the sea and the people who work with it every day. Ani’s is not just a restaurant—it is an experience of sincerity,...
