Whenever I visit palolem beach I use to go fisherman's restaurant. This time also I went, but this time around I was totally disheartening. Bcoz the thalis I ate was below average no taste to fried fish, rice in thali they served was pretty hard not typically goan rice. Fish was fresh, but prawns was not full cooked felt half cooked. Chonak was like just rawa masala the coating was very thick and fish was very less and small size. In any thali they don't serve chapati Or roti. I tried this time regular thali with bangda, prawns thali, special seafood thali. Prawns masala and roti. The salt was very less and taste was below average felt nothing close which I had few years back. So it's a no no for me. Next time we won't step in fisherman's restaurant. The only restaurant I liked taste at the fullest was the SUMAYA RESTAURANT OPP TO SAROVAR HOTEL.

So went here just searching for some local food not fancy restaurant Fisherman’s thought it will have good fish dishes and it did not fail to impress Ended up ordering Chicken thali had a punjabi style gravy sadly but nicely made unexpected in Goa sweet flavour of onion and perfect cooked chicken with aloo sabzi Fishermans Fish thali had clams masal Made in basic onion tomato Turmeric served with good quantity of rice Sukhafish which usually takes over other ingredients made in stir fried bell pepper and onion softened Fish curry made In coconut milk was show stopper with some zesty mild tang The perfect technique to Rawa fry surmai I could see here The fish had not absorbed much oil quite impressed still crispy and flaky perfect cooked 😍 Better thali than so called famous kokani kanteen of north ...

Heard about this from some locals and google reviews....thought of trying it for lunch...on the main palolem road near the beach this place has some parking also available. Food was good , fresh fish and prawns...but service was too poor...maybe it was peak time hence 2 people cudnt balance the no of orders and expectation of customers. It was too hot , as kitchen was open and with every morsel , we were sweating...  Food was tasty though , so not much regrets... Some things to improve...they need better washrooms, its a deterrent if someone goes there first...overall cleaner place , color tone inside is dark , and is not very helpful for eating. Better painting , overhauling of entire infrastructure , moving kitchen to another place or having better ventilation can take this place to bigger heights

A completely underrated place for the quality of food you get at this place. We tried surmai masala fry, surmai rawa fry, jeera rice, chicken Patiala, butter chicken, butter garlic naan, chicken tandoori, chicken hakka noodles, mojito and lemon water sweet over a span of 2 days and everything was well cooked and super tasty. At the looks of it you will find the place really shady and not worth a visit considering the clichés of beach side restaurant and shacks. This is located right in the middle of the palolem market Street and can go unnoticed if the advertisement board is not lit up. Average cost for 2 people is about rs. 500 and the quantity and quality of the food fits well for 2. Premium cocktails are priced at ₹250, regular cocktails are priced at ₹200 and mocktails are priced at ₹150. The food menu is priced at an average of ₹200 and the prices are reasonable. A perfect place for bag packers and guys on road trip or on limited budget if and only if you love food minus all the excellent views and beach...

Had a bad experience yesterday night. Went there at about 10-30 and found a sign saying last order at 10-30. Upon enquiring whether we'll be served food then, we were told that the last order sign was just for the local authorities and were promised that we'll get food. So we sat and our test of patience began. We ordered a red snapper fry, prawns masala, noodles and veg biryani. After about 25mins of placing the order we asked for the eta and were bluntly and told that it'll take time 30 mins more. Upon prodding further, came another blunt reply that order gets prepared one by one and will take time. After eternity our food arrived and expected it to worthwhile after the long wait. The red snapper fry was decent. All the other things were bad. Have you ever had biryani in dessert? That's what we had. Sweet biryani. The noodles and prawns masala weren't worth mentioning either. With the don't care about customer attitude, so so food this place is NOT...

Sometimes the best experiences come not from guidebooks, but from listening to the people who live by the sea. We were walking along the beach, surrounded by resorts that felt far removed from authenticity, and asked a few fishermen where they would go for fresh fish. They pointed us to Ani, and what a discovery it was.

We enjoyed the catch of the day, prawns, and calamari—all exquisitely fresh and perfectly prepared. Ani himself was truly spectacular, and the whole staff, especially Sunny, our waiter, made us feel warmly welcomed. The place is also very clean and thoughtfully adapted for tourists, without losing its authentic charm.

This visit reminded us of a simple truth: food tastes better when it comes with a story, with kindness, and with a connection to the sea and the people who work with it every day. Ani’s is not just a restaurant—it is an experience of sincerity,...
