Ohh my God! What a food! The lovely ambience sings together to increase melody of the time over there. I have been here twice already, and just can't wait to go again. The first time I went I tried their mouth watering Shirvolyo ani Ros with Churna, which is one of their weekend specials and the rich, delicious and filling vegetarian thali. Pav and Shagoti are good too is what my husband who savoured them told. This time we wanted to try maximum possible dishes, 4 of us went and ordered Sakrachi Chapathi, Kanyacho bakri (Rawa roti with onions), batatacho Kapa (Potato fritters), assorted Goan breads with Batata bhaji, Vegetable dangar and the thali again (just didn't want to miss it) along with cocktails and mocktails. I cannot tell which of them was the best because everything was absolutely delicious. Sakrachi chapathi, it took me back to my childhood days. It was soft, delicious, and mom-like food and I would want to eat it every time I go there. Kanyacho bakri was made with onions and turmeric powder dipped in rawa and other ingredients. It was fresh and crispy. Batatachi Kapa was one of the best Kapas I have had so far, with thin potatoes freshly fried with green chutney which I am sure was just made. Assorted Goan breads had a set of 3 breads - 1 each of Pav, Uno and Poee. We had it along with hot and tasty Batata Bhaji. Vegetable dangar served with onion rings and lemons was delicious too. The thali, what do I say about it.. I just don't want to say anything except that it is worth every single penny, just go and try it. They have a good collection of cocktails and mocktails too. The lovely ambience makes one feel like spending some more time there. The Kokum plants and other plants in the pots add up to the vibe. In last 2 years of my life in Goa I have seen a lot of restaurants that call themselves Goan restaurants but serve different kinds of food in the name of Goan food that are not really Goan. This one is unique. It only sticks to the concept of Goan Saraswat food. When you go there you will mostly see Mrs. Sapna Sardessai, one of the major pillars of the restaurant who has planned the menu and many more things over there, going personally to as many tables as she could, interacting with customers, collecting feedback and always willing to help out. Her keenness to hear from people about her brain child (Kokum Curry) shows the signs of growth of the restaurant. It was wonderful chatting with her and knowing about the food over there. This is one restaurant I would recommend to every Goan to cherish their food and culture and to every tourist to know the real Goan Saraswat food and appreciate. Excited to go again! (Note: 1. Rest rooms and tidy 2. I suppose pets are allowed, because I could see a puppy there today)

Good place for Konkani / Goan preparations ! Located above Delfino's Hymart under a shed , this is an open and airy place . Low cost seating and infra . It is the branch of original one which is located at Panjim . Nice menu with Chef's version of select Konkani Preparations . Flavourful and tasty food . Fish Thali : They serve thali in the dinner as well which is a plus because many of the popular places , thali is only served for lunch . Priced at rs it had a chapati , a portion of rice ,: small portions of French beans veg , chicken xacuti , clams masala , dry prawn chutney , rava khir , cucumber - coconut - peanut salad , kokam sarbat , thin slices of king fish rawa fry and prawn - radish curry ( exceptional taste ) . King fish curry - rice combo : Priced at 350 rs , it had a portion of rice , thin slices of Kingfish rawa fry and kingfish curry along with kisnoor . It was filling . Ross Omelette : Priced at 360 rs ; two poi breads , chicken cafreal , omelette and onion salad . Nice prepration ! Masala Omelette : Priced at 175 rs ; it was served with a poi . Sukurunde : Pieced at 275 rs ; they were balls of shredded coconut , jaggery , split bengal gram with spices which were coated in gram flour and then deep fried . It was a nice exposure to a classic konkani / goan dessert . Filling and tasty . Solkadhi : Though the glass was small but it was one of the best solkadhis I have tasted in recent times . Absolutely creamy ! Decently priced alcohol . Overall , it is a nice place to dine at slightly premium rates . Car parking is on the back side . Ask the watchman sitting at the entry and he will guide for the parking . Clean washrooms .

This is not just a restaurant, but a sincere attempt to revive a particular style of Goan cuisine into the commercial mainstream. KOKUM CURRY, this airy, chic and modest restaurant has opened recently in Candolim, and already managed to bag the Times Food Award for 'Best Saraswat cuisine'. Typically, when a tourist walks into a Goan restaurant, he expects what has been branded as global Goan cuisine for example Cafreal, Vindaloo, Xec-Xec and sweet dishes like Serradurra and Bebinca. But, for the discerning foodie who is well-researched, he has very few commercial options to sample the more Hindu-styled cuisine; and unless he's invited to a Hindu home for lunch, he would never get to eat it ever. And while the hugely successful Goan tea-time eateries have managed to offer the various bhaajis and Goan samosas as a Hindu contribution to the Goan culinary scene, the main course options in this category have always remained insignificant. I can't think of another place which serves such fabulous vegetarian main course options too... moogachyo gaathi, Alsaanneache tonaak, vaigyanche bhart, aambadyaache saasav. And to think that a tourist visits Goa and doesn't taste these delicacies which are relished daily by more than half the population signifies how under-represented this cuisine is. And yes, the Uddamethi, the kaannyaachi bhaakri, the tesreanche daangar- each of these dishes are very unique to this tiny state, but hardly recognized natio Do visit this place and enjoy the homely meal!

I had visited this restaurant with lots of expectations, and because it is one of the few restaurants that is specialised in our traditional Goan GSB food. I had come here with my relatives from outside Goa, so that we could taken them to a place where they can savour authentic Goan delicacies. However, I was utterly disappointed with my experience.

The Good: Food is good, tasty and really cooked in the authentic Saraswat way. The dishes and menu items are all that are household names in any GSB home and we can so much relate to it. But, this is where the good part ends, and my 2 stars are for the same.

To be fair to the restaurant, we arrived there on a Sunday, at around 1:15 pm in the afternoon. It was fairly crowded, and I do admit that we had no prior reservation. However, I don't see this justifies the step-motherly treatment that we received just because we didn't have a booking! The staff did arrange a separate table of 6, but the effort seemed to be so half-hearted that the guests made to feel guilty about coming without a booking.

The order were received and we were then informed that certain items were not available. We had to do some make-shift arrangements out of no choice.

The quantity doesn't justify the price at all. Dishes worth Rs. 250/- are served in small katoris. Sol Kadis are served in a glass that is used for a cutting-chai. Traditionally, there is no such thing that Solkadis are to be consumed in less quantity.

Some items that were added later were not brought for a long time, and we had to remind the staff several times.

We hoped to give our guests a taste of Goan hospitality, but were embarrassed due to this experience. The guests from Mumbai were also surprised and vocal about the quantity.

I am posting this with best intensions, so that a restaurant like this shouldn't be affected by negative word-of-mouth. I only hope the owners take this in the...
