First of all I want to mention that my opinion based on 20 years of hotel and restaurant management business and I have absolutely no intention to insult someone. We were seating at another amazing cafe nearby and was welcomed by the owners to inspect their newly opened cafe.
The place is small for restaurant, could be perfect for coffee house, but it is home made cafe with bar. There are wonderfull restaurant, coffee, cafe and bar around, so I was wondered why to open another one? Its a vary brave idea, lets see, what they got inside.
The furniture looks nice and cozy, fancy hippie style. But in reality it is very uncomfortable, especially artifitial-leather coushins, who want to seat on that at hot weather? There air conditiones on a first floor room, still covered with plastics, and usually its off but they will put it on if the guest are coming. So we must seat in the hot area and wait while it cool down (but its not, one AC is not anough and another was swiched off, looks like to save energy). So the place is not ready for customers yet. Book shelfs, design and attributes looks like they got bought on amazon as "ready set of useless items to decorate your cafe in one hour".
The menu is quite good for cafe - alot of veg and non-veg options, european style food also available. We have ordered english shepperds pie (unfortunately, it was still frozen inside while hot outside, with cheese on top...), apple humus with pita (that one was very tasty, especcialy freshly grilled pita bread), and two flat white coffee (it was not in the menu, but the smart boy on the counter told that he can do that for us. He can't, it was something else his own style, not good at all, beautifully served with coockies, but not the flat white. Even they have a very espensive coffee machine, but saved money for a good coffee and experienced barista, ruined the whole idea of good coffee).
We were enjoed the warm atmoshpere from the owners and we are always happy to support the family business. But the only thing which I can't understant, is why the owners of the cafe works as a chief, cook, waiter or cashiers? If I am coming to consumpt the food, I expect the professional cook on the kitchen, experienced barista before the coffee machine, educated manager who know how to train the staff, then I can enjoy the atmosphere chatting with family business owners.

Read moreThis is a great little discovery in the heart of Panjim. Being from the food industry in France and running an organic farm in Normandy I was very impressed by the personal touch to all the dishes that I ordered. The beetroot burger was out of this world and I can turn vegetarian just based on that dish! Every dish has a personal touch to it that is rare in the world of fnb where we are so accustomed to good but expected flavours. The menu has the perfect bites that go with the theme of a cafe. None of the run of the mill dishes but some gorgeous Mediterranean inspired tapas which work so well with the local weather in Goa.
There is a cozy vibe to the decor, which makes one want to spend hours cozying up in a corner with a book, and there is a very welcoming set of books to go with that. I loved the colour palette, bringing in the beautiful blues of the sea indoors. The owner is so involved and welcoming which is very rare. Usually we only see an employee welcoming guests and it really touched my heart to see that the owner was present looking over every aspect and ensuring that everyone was comfortable. This is old school charm that is missing in many establishments.
I was really taken aback by a review made by someone, which almost made me cancel my reservation, and after my visit I wonder if it was done deliberately to sabotage a new café and a promising new hangout in Panjim. This is a...
