A lil birdie told me that you can get Ahmedabad's best Pav-bhaji in Honest. Being a street food lover I couldn't resist sampling what Honest had to offer. So one fine Sunday, I dragged my friends to this place.
Sunday, as it seems from my short stay in Ahmedabad, is a family day at the restaurants. The place was brimming with people and the famous Ahmedabad heat; even though the air-conditioning was on. We parked ourselves in a corner seat and fired away our orders.
Considering the rush, the order came real quick. However, my order Cheese Pav Bhaji was mediocre. The pav-bhaji is now where near the league of Mumbai or Pune. Devoid of any pav-bhaji masala or the natural colour that your typical come to expect from India's most famous street food. Ahmedabad is the dairy of India but the quality of cheese was nothing close to what you come to expect. The quantity of the cheese was less too. The pavs, I must add, were of high quality: soft, luscious, and almost melted in my mouth. and that's all about it, the rest of the experience went downhill as fast as it started.

Read moreWe went around 4pm on 2 days. There was no waiting but also not many empty tables.
First day we ordered Dal Khichadi which was too spicy for the kids- we ordered Plain rice for the kids. Only cold water was served.
Second day we entered around same time. The person taking order didn’t take order from us for 10 minutes. When finally he came after multiple requests we were informed that Thali is not available hence we ordered Veg Pulav. Few minutes later 5 thalis were served- 3 of them to people who came after us. When we raised the issue with the manager he arranged a thali for us- and we had to pay extra money for the Pulav that we no longer needed.
Food is value for money but some staff members are biased-don’t know why. Generally the staff is courteous.
Food was good quality. Even the plastic tiffin given for parcel was of high quality. We could not spot a wash basin and they instead gave us wet tissues to clean hands after the meal.
Mukhwas was finished by the time we finished our lunch.
Hotel was suggested to us by a nearby restaurant which closes...
Read moreHey all. ! Please like this review. !! So, I visited Honest at "Pakvan", recently. ! I would firstly talk about service and the infrastructure. ! All those three stars are for service and infrastructure. ! They are providing good quality of services, food and cleaning. !
Secondly, the food . ! South Indian is nice and tasty, but if you talk about North Indian and Punjabi food. Doesn't seem and taste like much Punjabi to me.
Third is budget. So if you are having a little extra to spend on food you can visit here. ! It'll cost you atleast 400₹ for 2 people if you're not that hungry and maximum 600₹ for 2 people, if you're hungry. !
Lastly, toilet is clean but not maintained. !
But honestly, honest is worth a visit for me. . It's always fun to treat yourself with these kind of food. !
