Saffron Restaurant — Restaurant in Gujarat

We went to saffron to try their much publicised unlimited menu. In a city like Ahmedabad where every other restraunt serves unlimited thali at close to 300/-, saffron's price falls in semi premium range of 500ish... We had high expectations as it touts to be part of TATA group's business. The hype however falls flat on face in terms of food, Everything except the Dahi green chutney they served for free; was bad to say the least. Not so much as the taste being definitely below average, the preparations were as if the chef had either no heart in making the food that was served to us or they do not have a chef but a part time learner.. Probably chef was on leave and whoever closest was available cooked it. Our food: 1.Tandoori baby potatoes - patotoes were sweet. Can their be a sin bigger than this? Hara bhara kebab - the size of kebab was like a tablet of "Sualin". And taste was pretty much bland. Seem like they were Pre prepared and microwaved before serving. Paneer tikka - Smaller sizes again. Should have been called mini tikka. And much below average in taste. Soup - I don't even remember which soup we had. That pretty much sums up how forgettable it was. Main Course - Some vegetable mix that was sort of gravy-er-ish, A paneer dish which was not tasty and an Aloo preparation which was thankfully okay-okay. One pineapple Macroni in sweet white sauce which I totally abhor...

All in all it is definitely a place to avoid in terms of unlimited menu definitely and in terms of a-la-carté, I am assuming however much you try, if you can't make simple things right, it would also taste below average. More importantly, IF they have good a-la-carté but they knowingly serve bad food for unlimited menu then they are ethically wrong and thus shouldn't be visited at all on the simple grounds that a customer would never know where the restraunt can choose to make a cost based decision and put customer's health and well...

Saffron Unlimited Dinner Review

Food quality is below par. Very dull staff with no attention to customers, overall experienced very poor service and food. Will never recommend it to anyone.

No variety in the main course. Very limited options in starters. Taste is also not up to the mark. Not an option for a special occasion at all.

The food was not fresh. service was also not good. they charged Rs 450 to 499/- approx. per person for the below average food...(sorry, don't remember the exact rate).

This place was too crowded and noisy, we have not been able to listen to each other even sitting at one table.

The dishes were not clean. Had badly washed dishes. Asked the waiter to change. He changed my dish but gave the dirty dish to my friend.

Two varieties in Soups- Hot and Sour and Tomato. These were good.

In salads, they give onion and lemon. Papad were half cooked. Even after informing the management about it. They didn’t change the papads or take them back.

In starters, they had 5 options as they say- fried corn, hara bhara kabab, paneer barbeque, Potato Barbeque, one noodle sizzler and baked macaroni with pineapple.

I liked Hara Bhara Kabab, Paneer Barbeque, sizzler was just ok and Baked macaroni was good but they served only once.

I liked Paneer Sabji and Dal Fry. Veg Jaipuri was tasteless and Aloo Gobhi was totally pathetic.

As such other than starters, you won’t find these people asking to serve you unlimitedly.

In Dessert, they served one scoop of vanilla ice cream with a small pc of brownie (once).

Unhygienic place, poor management, bad food quality.

Advice to the management- Pls Don’t play with customer’s health and pockets.

MOST PATHETIC FOOD AND SERVICE. I RECOMMEND NEVER TO VISIT AGAIN.

I went there yesterday with my office 12 colleagues yesterday. We chose unlimited dinner option, and had to regret spending 5120 bucks for it. Not a single item met our expectation, not even cutlery (They simply deny to replace it!!) and even seating arrangement was .

Talking about food, which had no taste whatsoever! Soup: 0/5 Papad (which were soft and had to replaced): 2/5 Salad: 3/5 Crispy Veg: 1/5 Barbecue (Paneer & potato both were ridiculous): 1/5 Sizzler (No taste at all!): 0/5 Veg. Sabji (Felt will I getting sick after eating first morsel): 0/5 Paneer Sabji (Worst than roadside dhaba): 1/5 Roti includes lachha paratha, phudina paratha, methi paratha, stuffed paratha (most were raw and had to be replaced): 0/5 Rice (had a little hope with this, but that went in vain with first bite - they were half cooked): 0/5 Daal: 1/5 Dessert (Vanilla ice cream & brownie): 3/5

Overall Service & Staff: Ill mannered and untrained (quoting one of them "Phele paneer khatam karo badme hi dusra item milega", other one while requested to change cutlery "Yahi use karo, dusra lane me time lagega").

When contacted and complained about all these issues to manager, he was like nothing is wrong with their food and service. And owner was siting on nearby table after having dinner, watching us having conversation so carelessly. NEVER WROTE THIS LONG REVIEW. HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS AND THEY NEVER VISIT THIS...
