Being from Shimla, Mehru has always held a special place in my heart. But over time, it’s disheartening to see the decline in both service and the quality of their sweets.

I recently placed a large order of Black Gulab Jamun—my family’s favourite. They took an advance payment and confirmed the order, though no confirmation slip was provided. But that’s how things usually work here in Shimla—your word is your bond.

However, when we went to collect the order and got home, we were surprised to find brown gulab jamun instead, and the packaging was poorly done. When we tried reaching out to the person we had placed the order with, he not only refused to acknowledge the issue but also hung up on us.
