Some places do catch your attention even with few reviews and news and I so was intrigued on the greenery filled garden based Autumn Leaf Café when fellow foodies posted on.
Without further delay , I did visited them for dinner and I should say overall the place and food delivered big time.
Drinks : Homer - Blue berry , banana , honey blended with Yogurt - quite skeptical while ordering and I'm avert to yogurt. But on tasting it, found banana balanced the yogurt alergy for me and I did gulp it. It was fresh, tasty and definitely refreshing.
Otto - Simple yet refreshing watermelon juice with basil and lime - though looks simple served the purpose and felt refreshing. Could have add some dash of pepper which would have added some after kick to it.
Starters / Main Course: Onion Strings & French fries : Both served beautiful and fresh. French fries were amazing but I felt onion string was less in quantity, v v fine batter could have thicker coating and not fully fried for crispiness - looks they hurried on this dish.
Grilled chicken salad - Amazingly fresh and I loved the salad dressing added which made the whole salad taste uniformly and chicken added were nicely cooked and not at all chewy.
chicken wings - SLURP limitless - amazingly cooked, nice sauce bed and the home made BBQ sauce was mild at the same strongly flavored which made it a super dish for me - PICK OF THE DINNER
Mediterranean burger - Burger could have been bigger for the size and so the side servings of onion strings (look like a single strand served) , the chicken as such was cooked good but could have some crunch to the burger . Felt a good addition of black olive tapenade and feta cheese. The bun could have been softer for my liking. They should give option of changing the sides if possible
Pancakes - took some time.. but brought in home made pancakes not the traditional shapes though, but the pancake had the right flavor nothing dull or over powering. right fluff and went well with the maple syrup and whipped cream. Asked with side add on of strawberry preserve and they forgot for no reason. Not sure if he indeed listened to my order attentively.
Totally Everything slurpped fine and authentic. I'm so glad they didn't compromise to add any desi touch to it.
Place oozes calmness - relaxation - no hush bush - fresh and soothing air - totally serene.
Service has to be logically driven it was all around d place , I get it's a newbie but then service has to be d main ingredient of success for any newbie to make impressive impact. For me 3 disappointing issues in service:
That being said the menu looks damn appealing to my favorite dishes and I'm definitely going back...
Read moreThere are foodies, there are connoisseurs and then there are people like me who are constantly looking to find that perfect grilled fish or the perfect tea somewhere. Well, o wouldn't say that my quest has ended but pertaining to Hyderabad this place makes up for so much that i like. Nestled amidst a lot of greenery this open-air boutique cafe is a perfect detox from your alcohol-intensive, hiphop-rich weekends. Quiet, serene, and cozy, this place is where you would want to spend a Sunday with yourself. I had gone around 4-ish in the afternoon, the perfect time for tea. When tea is on your list of to-have things on a day out, you gotta be ready for disappointments for most places offer you masala chai, Bombay cutting or at the most an overpriced bag of twinnings :/ But Autumn Leaf is different. Being a Bengali with a special nose for tea, my first five minutes of ordering tea are spent in interviewing the steward about the leaf, the brew time, the pot, and so on till my friends want to leave and sit at another table. But I didn't have to do any of it here. I asked for oolong and was served with roasted oolong with a subtle but beautiful flavour of chamomile. Eh voila! A perfect 6minute brew in a brass kettle brought out its aroma and taste in a way that takes away all my stress. And hey! They served it with slices of lemon and a tiny bowl of honey! How impressive! Now, let's move on to the food. Being a pescatarian, I was looking for small fish eats like a burger or a sandwich but there were none, which made me go for the grilled fish plate. It was a perfect grill, smoky and supple, with rightly blanched veggies served with quinoa and not the usual herbed rice or potato mash! Loved it. The only thing that the Bengali taste buds really missed despite such perfection is the beckty fish. This was basa. Anyway. Already impressed with the food and the tea, I couldn't keep myself from ordering a blueberry cheesecake for a smooth sweet finishing touch. And oh my smooth it was! One of the rarest not because of its unique taste but because of its base, the blueberry cheesecake was poetry! It wasn't biscuit but chhena or cheese curd (not sure) and with the right amount of sweetness. Beautiful. Food connoisseurs must visit this place.
And hey, the adjacent furniture boutique has antique pieces and a few designer apparels but it is a little heavy on the pocket. I fell in love with a beautiful cotton crop top and burnt quite a hole in my already burnt pocket but I guess it's all about the beauty. It was overall a lovely experience. And the best part? I met a beautiful Siberian husky, bubbles (visitor, not the owner's)....

Our culinary journey began with the Fish and Chips. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired beautifully with the classic tartar sauce. The chips were golden brown and had a satisfying crunch. While not a traditional fish and chips experience, it was a delightful twist on the classic.
Next up was the Pulled Chicken Siriracha Burger. The burger was a flavor explosion! The pulled chicken was tender and juicy, and the sriracha added a delightful kick. The combination of flavors and textures was truly impressive.
To quench our thirst, we opted for the 2milk Cold Coffee. It was a refreshing concoction, with the perfect balance of coffee and milk. A delightful treat on a rainy day.
