Canton,The Chinese Hub,Multi-cuisine Restaurant. — Restaurant in Hyderabad

Traditions, traditions. Stepping out for a quick work lunch and in the mood for Chinese food, led me to Canton. Reaching the main road, the signage looked aged and when peaking below the dominos it sat under, I wasn't even sure if it was functional. After descending down the steps, I realized it was open and upon entering was greeted by a really aged Fish Tank, very old interiors and a single man that was in the kitchen but stepped out to take my order. There was one other patron, and while the place didn't feel very hygienic at first, my thoughts led me to take a chance looking at how the place had aged over time and still remained functional. Keeping things light, I ordered a manchow vegetarian soup and a chilli-chicken dry. Frankly the food was "okay" and the portion sizes were smaller, compared to other Chinese places I have visited. Then again, the rates were reasonable by today's standards, so it was fine. What seemed like the bigger draw were the enormous list of katti rolls (kolkotta style) that was up on the board by the cash counter. I think it will be a pass for me though - as I hope they can update the interiors a bit more and perhaps make the place a bit more inviting...

If you want a good Chinese and Indian meal in Somajiguda then this is the place.

Food : Having visited this place so many times, I am biased towards some of the dishes they serve which are lip smacking good.

Kolkotta Rolls : Chicken Hariyali Kebab roll , Chicken 65 kebab roll , Chilly chicken kebab roll with double egg are my all-time favorites here. The size of the roll and the quantity of chicken they provide inside is amazing and enough to satisfy an average person’s appetite

Chopsuey : Chicken chopsuey and American chopsuey are nice , almost same that you get everywhere else. However, American chopsuey is not served with omelet here like most other Chinese outlets do.

Indian Breads : The roti section needs a huge improvement if they have indian food on the menu , except Phulka’s & butter phulka’s they do not serve the paratha’s which are present in the menu. Based on multiple visits over months in both afternoon and dinner slots

Overall a nice place to have food...

The food from Canton is usually good but today I had a very horrible experience with Canton delivery. I ordered a home delivery order and when it did not arrive 40 minutes after ordering, I called them back. The person at the other end firstly refused to recognise the order and then nonchalantly informed me that the restaurant was now full and would take an hour to be delivered. I told him it was unfair to not inform me at the time of ordering or even later to which he very rudely said "someone else took the order and now I am telling you that it will take an hour to deliver due to rush." No concern for customer at all. I expressed my dissatisfaction to which the restaurant just replied saying saying it was fine with me cancelling the order. Horrible experience.
