We went for Cascade lunch buffet on one Sunday recently. The cost was surprisingly Rs 3600 inclusive all taxes. The male staff was welcoming and Positives:

  1. The gent staff was humble and welcoming. The gent staff mentioned that day was some street food festival buffet.
  2. Soup: The mutton bones soup is Ok.
  3. Starters. There were two starters only. The chicken dry starter(I think it was chicken 65) was also good. The veg starter (spring roll) was also good.
  4. Pan fries: The Indian salmon fish pan fry taste was Ok. The sea bass fish pan fry was Ok. We didn't try fish an fry. There were veg kebabs and other veg related pan fries which we didn't try.
  5. Wet non veg starters/curries: The mutton beja(brain), khaleja (liver) is good. I asked him mutton boti(intestines) and the person served some mutton wet curry. This mutton wet starter was not well cooked and I had chew multiple times and I had to finally give up the uncooked mutton pieces. The chicken ceaser salad, cucumber salad, egg salad was Ok.
  6. Main course: The pulihora is tasteless. The chicken biryani was average and the pieces were not tender.
  7. The hot badam milk was awesome and I really liked the taste.
  8. They offerred some blue mojito type non-alcoholic welcome drink which we didn't try.
  9. The pav bhaji was awesome and I really liked the taste.
  10. The gup chup(pani puri) was average.
  11. Deserts: Very limited collection of deserts (rasagulla, gulab jamun, atukula payasam, brownie, badushai, some muffin, kubani ka meeta). There was jalebi also which we didn't try.
  12. There was no section of ice creams. However, staff named Shiva was humble and offered large size bowl of chocolate ice cream which was good.
  13. The staff served us on table with some of the time taking above live dishes like mutton wet starters, fish pan fries, pani puri, pav bhaji which was good.
  14. There were other dishes like idly, sambar, kottu paratha and chicken kottu paratha which we didn't try.
  15. The curd rice was average, the papad was ok.

Negatives/Improvements needed:

  1. The lady staff simply stared at us as if we were aliens without any greeting.
  2. Tables are very close with less privacy during this pandemic.
  3. The buffet plates were not thoroughly cleaned. I saw many uncleaned spots for empty plates several times and I had waste time finding a well cleaned plate.
  4. The air conditioning was not well and it was sweating because of less ac while dining and we felt the heat.
  5. There were no paper napkins on the table.
  6. The drinking water was served on request.
  7. There was no single dish related to prawns. I would expect some brown rice, brown eggs and country chicken.
  8. The mutton wet curry was bland and partially cooked with many bones.
  9. Mouth fresheners like fennel seeds/meetha pan should have been offered.
  10. More dishes can be added at this pricepoint.

Overall, from a 5 star, I experienced limited gourmet dishes with 2 star ambience and we spent one hour.

PS: For the similar price (around USD 40 incl taxes), I tried Aria lunch buffet in Las Vegas which had close 2000 dishes (all you can eat Indian, Chinese, Italian, Japanese, American counters, etc you name it they had it) with large collection of meat(crabs, prawns, oysters, goat/lamb, chicken), rice, deserts, drinks, juices. We took about 2.5 hours to taste almost the...

We had high hopes for the Radisson buffet, expecting at least a decent experience from a well-known name. What we got instead was nothing short of a culinary catastrophe. The entire experience was abysmal from start to finish.

First, the selection was shockingly limited. For something labeled a buffet, the spread was embarrassingly sparse. We found ourselves circling the counters, hoping more dishes would be added, only to be met with the same tired, uninspired options. It felt like leftovers from a school cafeteria, not a meal worthy of a respected hotel.

But even worse than the quantity was the quality—if you can even call it that. The food was bland, stale, and absolutely revolting. Every bite was a new disappointment. The Kachoris were so cold. The curries were watery and flavourless, the breads were dry and rubbery, and the desserts were laughably bad—more like sugary goop than anything appetising. Honestly, I’ve had better food at roadside stalls.

To top it off, the ambiance was dull, the service was indifferent, and everything just reeked of negligence. We went there to celebrate a special occasion—our anniversary—and it ended up being a complete disaster. Instead of a memorable evening, we left with a bitter taste in our mouths and a ruined celebration.

Worst food ever. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had.

Do NOT go to this place. Save your money, your appetite, and your sanity. Radisson should be ashamed to serve food like this...

We decided to go here to avail the ongoing flat 50% off carnival offer on Zomato. We tried their buffet, and it couldn’t have been more worth it.

We started with the cream of chicken soup, which is really good. There were about 8-10 starters, including veg and non-veg. It’s important to mention that none of these were the generic ones which we get everywhere, like crispy corn and tikkas. They have variety and also innovation. If you are not satisfied with these, then they also have some good salads and a live counter serving anda pav, paneer tikka, etc.

Coming to the main course, you’ll get biryani, pastas, noodles, au gratin, two or three fish dishes, mutton, chicken, bok choy, Andhra dishes, and I am sure I am missing some more. Last but not least, desserts were something that won our hearts. We tried all, including ragi jalebi, rabdi, brownies, cakes, macaroons, gulab jamun, and halwa. The puddings and the blueberry cake were insanely good ….. perfection on the plate! I can go back just for these!

The service was good, and the best part was that there was peace, unlike all the other buffet restaurants which are so crowded.

If I have to nitpick, then I would say that the starters were a bit cold, given that they were not kept in heated pots. Other than that, our experience was spot on! Highly recommended, especially when the carnival discount...

Today I had the opportunity to attend the ongoing Odia Food Festival in Cascade restaurant of Radisson, Hitech city. The spread was huge, and I mean huge. Apart from a dedicated counter for Odia dishes, there were regular starters, cold cuts, salads, mezze bar, veg and non-veg main courses, live chaat counter, pasta counter, sushi counter, mocktail counter, tandoor station, chocolate fountain, and many more. Loved the non-veg starters, the shooters, and the desserts. Odia-style samosa was great, as well as the chicken lollypops and cheese arancinis. The Kankada (crab) curry and mutton curry from Odia cuisine were great too. In desserts, loved the Odia goja, rasgulla (yes, even being a hardcore Bengali 😁), Chhena Payesham, Baba Au Rhum. The spread was so huge, could not even taste half of the dishes, and had to give some sections a complete miss (such as Tandoori section, pasta counter). Overall, it was a really well organized event. Also, kudos to the fellow foodies to make this a memorable afternoon. Note: The buffet is priced at 1499+taxes, but we were offered a special price of 700 AI.
