Ahoo - An underrated restaurant🌟
Ahoo an underrated restaurant that's located in DLF Gachibowli Hyderabad, In the Bloom hotel, is a remarkable restaurant. The service and food both are excellent. I'd rate 4 stars to the restaurant. The reason why it's not a 5/5 is because their breakfast spread is limited. The restaurant should be open to having lots of breakfast options. For example there's no dessert in breakfast, usually in other hotels there would be Gajar ka Halwa, Gulab Jamun, etc. For dessert. And everyday you'd get the same, puri bhaji, parantha, bread, and that's it. You should keep different breakfast options such as pongal and also keep something of kid's interest, for example, kids like Hashbrowns or cheese nuggets in breakfast. Also everyday it's the same kind of juices, apple and orange. The restaurant should keep pineapple juice, mango juice etc. So in conclusion, the breakfast's buffet has to be open to more items. there's another one negative point I'd like to mention about one of the present staff. In the beginning, when I checked into bloom, I was having a deep hatred towards Ahoo and the reason was one of the staff named Madhu. Whenever we'd ask the boy that what's in the menu, he'd say 'Paneer ma'am'. We'd then ask any other options? Such as Brinjal, Lady Finger, Potato, etc. And all he'd say is no. We're having a long stay in the hotel and all he'd say is available is paneer. So I was really annoyed and didn't want to dine here. One day, I requested to call the chef and talk to him personally since we'd ask him what's possible other than paneer. And here's what he said: Brinjal, Lady Finger, Potato, Cauliflower is available everyday ma'am. So for the past 3-4 days he was fooling us by saying no ma'am there's nothing available but paneer. I was relieved to hear that anything is possible but i couldn't stop wondering that why would the guy fool us for the past 3 days. Anyways, I have no personal grievances and nothing against Madhu. I just request the management to please have a conversation with him and tell him not to repeat it again with another customer otherwise this is nothing but a loss for both the restaurant and the customers. But i suggest you to not fall into Madhu's Trap when you visit the restaurant or else you'll be highly irritated just like me. Overall the restaurant is good and as I mentioned before both the service and food are lovely. One of my favourites from there is Dal, Rice, Lady Finger, and along with everything together some pickle. All mixed together tastes yum. Just like home. I'd recommend you to try their pickle because it's just awesome. I'm hoping I'd soon be able to give a 5 star to the restaurant and my feedback is...

M Satish and Nagalakshmi served us tonight. They not only helped us find good dishes in the menu but also checked if we needed anything for us have a good time. Good hospitality.
Coming to food.
Had Pandumirchi pappu annam, Kothimeera paneer vepudu, Munagaaku soup and Kaju chicken fried rice.
Pappu annam tasted good. We were given full size papad and that wasn't quite sufficient. Also, although the taste was great, it was just mixed dal rice. Nothing more to surprise or wait for. Like kaju in a pulao or egg in fried rice. While the overall taste is good, you want to wait for something. Save something and have once in a while. Crunchy papad was supposed to be that. But as I said, wasn't sufficient. Instead, having a bunch of small ones will help check that feeling too. Bonus: This came piping hot and so that elevated the spicy nature of the dish. Was breathing clear and cleaning my eyes at the end of it.
Munagaaku soup tasted heavenly. Good one to have in the menu.
Kaju chicken fried rice had ample egg too. Taste was good.
Kothimeera Paneer vepudu could have been better. Batter didn't stick well to the paneer. So, there were fried batter pieces, paneer pieces that have lost their over coat and then proper paneer pieces that still are dressed for the occasion. The flavor of coriander is bit on the lower side to my expectation. But, overall, decent taste. Didn't regret ordering.
Matka kulfi isn't great. It was closer to being bland than being sweeter. They should consider changing the supplier. And, it had half the mutka empty. Only bonus being it had nuts in it to remind that you are having something good...
Read moreVisited on: 19th May 2025 As per the staff, I had the privilege of being their first customer, and what an experience it was!
Ambience: The restaurant is beautifully designed—spacious, vibrant, and filled with a rich traditional Telugu touch. A unique highlight is a special room dedicated to the legendary comedian Mr. Brahmanandam, filled with his pictures and iconic memes. It’s fun, nostalgic, and adds a playful charm to the overall vibe.
Staff & Service: The staff were warm, courteous, and made an effort to explain the significance and specialty of each dish served. It added a personal and welcoming touch to the experience.
Food: I opted for a Non-Veg Thali which includes a Veg Thali (₹350) along with Chicken Fry (₹99). The thali is generous and thoughtfully curated, including:
Kandhi Podi ball
5 vegetable curries
2 varieties of dal
3 types of rice
Perugu Vada
1 Pachadi
Sambar, Rasam & Perugu Charu
2 sweets
Curd, pickles, and papad
Every item was delicious, authentic, and homely, with standout dishes like Mudda Pappu, Perugu Vada, Boorelu, and the traditional Kandhi Podi and pickles. Unlike many thalis that serve watery gravies, Ahoo serves rich, flavorful, and well-balanced items that truly reflect Telugu culinary traditions.
Suggestion: The only small concern was the rectangular thali plate, which felt a bit compact for such a wholesome spread. A round plate might enhance the dining comfort, especially for thali meals.
Overall Verdict: An amazing experience and a strong 5-star rating from me. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a genuine Andhra thali with a twist of...
