Coming to the Veg and Non-veg starters :
Crispy potato in chilly plum sauce(Veg) - It was like crispy french fries with chilly sauce but a better version Poh pia jae (Thai spring rolls with glass noodles) - A unique dish in itself where the spring rolls are not cut into pieces and given like a solid rolls , served hot , tasted well with the chilly sauce which was already present at the table. Crispy whole corn chilli garlic - This was an okay dish , liked by many but I have had it too many times so just had a spoon of it to check how it was .
Fish dry red chilli - One of the most popular dish of the afternoon. It warranted repeated refills from almost everyone who tasted it. It was medium spicy and every one enjoyed it thoroughly. Boneless pieces of fish are cut into small square like pieces , deep fried with spices to get you that authentic flavor
Chicken steamed wontons - Steamed wontons are not that appealing to me , but it was loved by my friends as it was plain and simple of all the dishes and kinda balanced the spicy with the non-spicy
Chicken with green pepper - This was also a medium spicy dish where the boneless pieces of chicken were served with capsicum , a different style again but it could have been more spicy for my liking
Main Course : Chicken thai basil fried rice - Their fried rice is legendary , the flavor and smell itself was quite appealing and it didn't disappoint in any way. This went well with the chicken in black pepper sauce, the sauce was quite strong and evoked a nice second helping . Chicken Chinese chopsuey - Just tasted it once so can't comment on it.
In the end we closed the session with Honey noodles with ice cream where everyone had multiple rounds of it and actually finished the...
Read moreWe visited Chinese Pavilion, Gachibowli, on the 1st of January to celebrate the New Year. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon arrival, we were assisted by the manager, Mr. Ashraf Khan, in choosing the menu. We specifically inquired about crab dishes and were informed that crab meat was available. However, at no point were we told the approximate weight or cost of the dish. Trusting the manager’s recommendation, we placed the order without further thought.
When the dish arrived, it was a complete letdown. The crab lacked freshness, flavor, and taste—it was bland, unappetizing, and practically inedible. We were so disappointed that we had to leave 80% of the dish on the table as it was simply unbearable to eat.
When we raised concerns, we were shocked to learn that the dish cost ₹1800. We asked the manager why he didn’t inform us about the pricing beforehand. Even more concerning, the final bill reflected a reduced price of ₹1400 for the same dish, leaving us questioning the transparency of the pricing process.
While the manager apologized for the mishap, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Neither the food quality nor the communication from the manager met basic expectations. Such practices—failing to provide clear information and offering subpar food at premium prices—feel exploitative.
We cannot recommend Chinese Pavilion and will not be visiting again. Restaurants should prioritize customer satisfaction, transparency, and the quality of food, especially when customers place trust in their...
Read moreWe recently visited Chinese Pavilion in Gachibowli, Hyderabad with a group of friends. Being familiar with the place from previous visits, we were excited to indulge in some authentic Chinese cuisine. And as expected, the food was amazing! Chinese Pavilion truly serves the best Indo-Chinese dishes in town.
The restaurant has a decent staff, and finding seating is usually not a challenge as we managed to find empty places without much hassle. The spice levels and blend of flavors in their dishes are perfectly suited for the Indian Chinese palate. Each bite was a delightful explosion of tastes, leaving us craving for more.
While the food impressed us, it's worth mentioning that the entrance to the restaurant is a bit disappointing. It is located in a complex, and unfortunately, the entrance area tends to be smelly and dirty. It would be great if the complex management could take some measures to improve this aspect. However, once you step inside the restaurant, the ambiance is top-notch. The interior design and overall atmosphere create a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience.
To summarize, Chinese Pavilion is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious Indo-Chinese cuisine in Hyderabad. While the entryway could use some improvement, the exceptional food, decent staff, and pleasant ambiance make it a worthwhile dining destination.
