Last night, we had the pleasure of enjoying a family dinner at ITC Kakatiya. The ambience was delightful, with each floor offering a unique charm. We were spoilt for choice with the variety of restaurants available, but as vegetarians, we opted for Deccan Pavilion, known for its diverse cuisines and dinner buffet.
Every dish was fresh and flavorful. Unlike other restaurants that use a common gravy for multiple dishes, each dish here had its own unique taste. The hospitality was exceptional, arguably the best among all five-star hotels in Hyderabad and India. They even chopped fresh fruits into small pieces for our little one and served a millet palak khichdi that was so fresh and tasty, we didn't hesitate to offer it to our child, who usually only eats homemade food.
We particularly enjoyed the grilled paneer tikka, which was soft and uniquely flavored. There were several other starters that were so good, we went back for seconds. The main course and dessert options were equally impressive.
The restaurant's ambience and hospitality make it a place you would want to linger in. For a memorable family time, with plenty of photo opportunities and delicious food, ITC Kakatiya is the...
Read moreWe had an utterly disappointing experience at Deccan Pavilion’s buffet, easily one of the worst I’ve ever had. For a restaurant of ITC’s repute, the standards were shockingly low. The dining area was nearly empty, with just 5-6 guests, which should’ve been a red flag. Not a single dish stood out—every item was either cold or barely lukewarm, including the soup. The non-veg starter served was identical to what was being prepared at the live counter, showing a complete lack of variety or effort.
Service was abysmal; we had to repeatedly remind the staff for basic items despite the sparse crowd. The food quality was consistently poor, with no dish worth mentioning. Even the desserts were lackluster, failing to salvage the experience. To top it off, they refused a simple request for white sauce pasta, asking us to order it à la carte instead. For a buffet priced over ₹2000+ per person, this level of inflexibility is unacceptable.
Deccan Pavilion needs a serious overhaul. I will never dine here again and strongly advise others to steer clear. Save your money and appetite for a place that cares...
Read moreWe stayed at the ITC Kakatiya for three nights and I would have to say that my favorite part about my mornings were waking up and heading down to Deccan for their brunch! They have a vast assortment of options to choose from. From fresh fruits, to oatmeal parfaits, to desserts, to delicious Indian dishes, they really had everything and so much more! They have a few chefs making fresh Indian dishes as you order, I highly recommend you try each of those! The head Chef, Rishi, was at our table every morning checking in and asking what else he could assist us with or bring us. He even chatted with us for about 20 minutes explaining how I could try to make the polka dosa and paratha once I return back home (I'm from the US). It was so kind of Chef Rishi to take the time to chat with us, share his insights and instructions, on how I could try and re-create my favorite Indian dishes that were served while here. I highly recommend dining here, you will not be...
