Went there without much expectations. Meeting some friends and wanted to try out a new place. As you enter, the vibe gets created. Joseon era design, beautiful seating areas - you can choose to sit inside or outside. Two of us reached first and we preferred sitting in. As soon as you sit, the decor pulls you in and we started admiring the same. While our eyes wandered, one of the staff placed a small tray containing soya sauce, chilli sauce and Kimchi. We immediately started trying the kimchi - after all a Korean meal cannot start without it. It was a perfectly balanced spicy tangy sweet kimchi, where you can taste the effort put to ensure each slice of veggies has the taste ingrained in it. By the end of our dinner, we had finished 3 bowls of Kimchi. For drinks, we had dalgona coffee, hazel iced coffee and banana milk coffee. All three were nice with no overpowering flavors. Then we ordered Korean Prawn pancake (Buchimgae), Korean hot dog, steam egg, Ramyun bowl, fish sticks, Tteok bokki with sausage. And finally for dessert it was hot cookie with ice cream.
We just happily gorged on every item ordered without any regrets. And it was a speedy service with each of the staff being just ready to help you with anything. We were also greeted by the Chef Bharath himself to take feedbacks on the food. A very humble person who carries immense experience as a cruise line chef with exposure to different cuisines. And hence, the decision to handpick selected dishes for the menu that embodies the authenticity of the cuisine, completely aligns to the taste each dish brings.
The menu pricing is on the expensive side - around 1800-2000 per head cost. However, I wouldn't say it was a pocket burner as the food and quantity did justice to the taste and being filling. Worth every penny. Highly recommended, if you want to enjoy authentic...
Read moreI visited Hanok today with two friends and had an extremely disappointing experience, not because of the food but due to the abysmal customer service. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that customer comfort and satisfaction were not a priority.
Firstly, we were denied a suitable table for three people and forced to sit at a cramped table for two, while larger tables remained unoccupied under the excuse of being reserved. We ended up sitting outside, where we faced another issue: the fans. Despite politely requesting the waiter multiple times to turn off the fan, our requests were either ignored or met with minimal action. One fan was eventually turned off, only for another, more directly aimed at us, to be turned on.
When we escalated the matter by asking for the manager, the staff's attitude worsened. A waiter falsely claimed to be the service manager and only involved the actual manager when the situation spiraled out of control. While an apology was eventually offered, it felt superficial and failed to address the broader issues of poor training and blatant disregard for customer comfort.
I was so frustrated that I lost the desire to continue eating. Shockingly, neither the staff nor the manager took note of this or attempted to make amends. While the food was decent, the lack of respect for customers overshadowed everything else.
Opening a restaurant isn’t just about serving food; it’s about creating a welcoming and accommodating experience. Hanok failed on all counts, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless they take immediate steps to improve their...
Read moreWe came here for lunch and the valet guys damaged our car which I could have accepted as a mistake considering accidents aren’t in any one’s control but what created utter disappointment is all the valet guys including restaurant boys tried to blame on us without feeling a bit of remorse of their fault.
After we checked the CCTV recording it was clear the valet had severely damaged the car and worse is they made me wait for an hour and after that the owner is trying blame valet which clearly says how hospitable or how courteous these guys are towards their clients. I have lodged a complaint because after committing a mistake neither the Hanok Management nor the valet guys have apologised and are resorting to blaming “us” saying valet is complimentary service.
Restaurants are supposed to be hospitable and respectful but here that’s the least you would get.
You blatantly lie about not finding any evidence of CCTV talks about your intentions I have recorded what your manager Mr. Rathod accepted as your valet damaging the car and here you are trying to defend yourself by blatantly lying. Really embarrassing to hear you lie here...
