Going by the name Yes it's the "Jewel of Nizam".
You enter into Golconda resort and walk through the greenery and slowly raise your eye along the wide long tower, There you find this restaurant with a panoramic view of the Nizam city. The whole structure looks like a big diamond mounted on a huge ivory pillar.
The ambiance is just so elegant that it really made me feel like a king. I was so damn in love with the crockery & serving utensils. I Could imagine how the real kings were treated way long back.
Coming back to the food served it had three options Veg, Non-veg with out prawns & Non-veg with Prawns. Being a prawn lover opted the 3rd one.
Started with a welcome drink followed by soup, starters (3veg-3nonveg & 1 prawn starter) and main course.(5 varieties each).
The best among all is the paneer starter (Soft juicy and yum), Roganjosh (subtle spice & Flavourful ), Dum Biryani (Aromatic, grainy, well-cooked with full of flavors), Khubani ka meetha (No words to describe).
That is all about highlights & coming to the low lights
The price difference between Non-Veg with & with out prawns is pretty high where the quantity (prawns dishes) served is low. And when asked again we were said that its limited quantity but later upon discussion with the manager we were said it would take time and later served.
The wait time for dishes being served is bit high is what I felt.
Few tips before you visit this place
As usual, reservation is recommended.
If you are a couple and wanted a romantic touch mention view point seating when doing a reservation.
If you are opting for NON-VEG with prawns make sure the prawn's dish is not limited.
If you are going in a large group over the weekend expect a delay in serving.
Off course lots of pics. Would recommend walking in at a near sun set time so that the pleasant light would help for great click on the ground and mid air.
If it's a kind of celebration you can intimate the staff well in advance so that a complimentary cake is arranged.
Overall it was a pricey, royal ambiance with good food (not a great one though ).
Will definitely recommend for couple anniversary celebrations or romantic date (off-course we have many others too) or corporate parties.

Read moreWe visited this lavish restaurant, our two toddlers in tow, alongwith extended family members; a total of nine members in all, late last evening late-November 2019.
We were impressed with the themed decor as we leisurely paced ourselves inside to be greeted by subtle and melodic music... a live jugalbandi, duet performances by two musicians on tabla-sitar, playing some really mood uplifting tunes. The overall ambience of the restaurant is worthy of mention, seemed like stepping into another world - a somewhat glance into the world of royalty - Nizam royalty!
The waiters were soft-spoken, presentable, courteous individuals who welcomed and ushered us to our seats.
Menu cards were handed down and, we called for a variety of different items like non-veg (chicken) starters, haleem, main-course like Tandoori Lobster, Lamb Biryani etc. overall, had a really good time.
Despite initial barely negligible customer footfalls, my only bone to pick with them was the unusually long wait-time, about 15 to 20 mins, just for the starters to arrive, after the waiter took down our orders. We were served triangle-shaped crispy snacks in the meantime. Even subsequent refills for side-dish items like raita / green chutney / including water, took unusually long.
While most of the items, especially chicken starters, lobster were indeed aromatic, visually appealing and delectable (literally melted in the mouth, hardly had to chew!) however, the portion servings was, in my opinion, not upto the mark given the prices.
An unexpected surprise was when, after the billng, they were gracious enough to bring out a cake with a candle, even joined in the cake-cutting celebration and proactively offered to take our picture.
Other observations, their Gents washroom need attention; one-of-the-three washbasins' tap was broken, water dripping. Also observed the accessible toilet for patrons with physical disabilities didn't appear to have paper towels dispenser, soap dispenser looked like it needed to be refilled. Overall the area was unclean and foul-emitting odour, which almost seemed akin to the situation in general public toilets... unexpected from this...
