We had the misfortune of staying here for four days as a couple. At first we were staying in a room on the fourth floor. The check in process was not bad even though we weren’t offered any drinks or refreshments. Initially the room we got had a strong cigarette odor in addition to hair on the floor near the air conditioning unit. Upon request it was immediately looked after but the cigarette smell did not leave. So we were moved to another room. This one didn’t smell of cigarettes but the bathroom was absolutely not in good shape. The toilet flush is recessed onto the wall, and due to its age it was leaking and was extremely hard to press and hold requiring quite some force to push. The shower was full of soap scum, stains, and urine odor which is a clear sign of a bad cleaning job and subpar maintenance of hygiene. We requested to have the shower completely scrubbed and hosed down to get rid of that foul smell. This was taken care of the next day. It didn’t solve the issue, so we were then moved to a room on the sixth floor which was supposed to be a club room and was right next to the club lounge. Our troubles with the bathroom hygiene only got worse. This time around, even the bed linens were disgustingly unhygienic. Please see pictures for reference. The mugs, bathroom fixtures, tiles, bed linens etc. are all absolutely unhygienic. Our club room was right next to the club lounge, and on our last night the lounge had a party going on into the night. The ruckus and the smell of cigarette smoke rendered our sleep impossible, upon complaining, the front desk informed me that it will only last one more hour so we have to wait and see. Is this how a star hotel works in this day and age? Hygiene apart, another big let down was the breakfast. This hotel was once a famous spot for quality food, especially their lunch and dinner options. The breakfast buffet however is so bad that I prefer a low grade budget option’s breakfast offering over this. The fruit options were orange, water melon, and musk melon. There was neither an apple nor a berry to be seen anywhere. There was no muesli or oatmeal. There was no filter coffee or freshly brewed coffee even as an option. The cereal milk container always ran empty. Food that was dropped on the floor took a whole twenty minutes to be attended to. Chicken sausages were so dry that you’d wonder if they were just left out for several days on the kitchen counter. There was a dosa counter which flipped out half decent dosas once in a while. The service staff were polite and responsive even though the kitchen was screwing things up for the guests. Finally, I can’t say I’ll stay here again considering how much of a letdown our stay was this...

I had booked this property for 3 adults and 1 child via Makemytrip. The Travel portal booked 2 rooms for me. I had placed a special request for "interconnected" rooms. The very idea is to spend some more time together with my daughter who was set to uk for higher studies and had to catch a flight on the 14th night. We arrived at the hotel and at the reception said she doesn't have interconnected rooms. I would like to ask why Makemytrip provides a provision to make a special specific request provision at their portal when they fail to arrange the same? No communication from neither MMT nor the property about non-availability of interconnected rooms. I understand the fact that the property can oblige special request only if it is available. But if it is unavailable, why they cant inform the customer about unavailability? ok. The receptionist gave us room nos. Room. The rooms were old and with almost worn-out items. I would have booked other hotels if the Golconda doesnt provide interconnected rooms. The rooms are really overpriced for the quality of amenities provided. Room bathroom is "specially designed" with WC faucet placed at the left-hand side! one has to do circus to use the wc faucet. The photograph is enclosed here. Anyway. We have to use these rooms inevitably and cursing MakemyTrip, We spent time till 9pm. We had to get ready by taking bath to go to airport. Now the real nightmare appeared! in room, the shower is unusable. The shower shifter button doesn't work! we have informed the personnel but none came for help. We had to use room no. 503 to take bath! we went to the airport and next day morning we had informed again to the managers at reception. The sent someone. Who said after inspecting. Isko sahee karneme 2 ghanta lagega! We didn't utter a word and used room. We came down for breakfast. The very feel at the restaurant was like we were beggars! no attention whatsoever. Had to wait for more than 15 mins for coffee cups! we were hearing customers yelling at the staff for refilling idlis and tea.
