When you make a decision of staying in a luxury hotel or a five star hotel, you expect some basic level of hygiene and service, if not extremely utopian luxury conditions. Upon checking in, the receptionist informed me that the room is lake facing. When I saw the view from my 7th floor room, I was shocked to believe that a five star hotel of Taj group can sugarcoat its words to call a sewer a lake. The management, I am sure is well travelled, and they know what a lake is. If at the time of check-in it is emphasized that the room is lake facing, a beautiful feeling that automatically sets in the mind starts searching for that beauty when one enters the room. Just have a look at the attached pictures to see what is this water body like.
Swimming pool is adjacent to this sewer and the stench can just murder you if you decide to use it. You ask the pool guard about presence of some awful smell around, he will politely say, yes sir. Think of inhumane conditions under which these guys or the staff are working. I am afraid, the staff may be, shortening their lives by one third by inhaling toxic gases.
The smell emanating from the so-called lake is extremely poisoning and the hotel management is busy in counting currency notes. I would recommend people to not to waste money and put their health in danger by booking rooms here. It's suffocating and I am wondering how many would have asphyxicated to death from this extremely poisonous and intolerable stench.
One can imagine the magnitude of the poison by the fact that no body can tolerate the smell even at the reception gate of the hotel. What I intend to say is that even for about five seconds that you may spend at the reception door - while entering or leaving the hotel, this is going to give you and your family the toxicity to sudden death. Getting into the car or out of the car at the reception in this dangerous air is equivalent to inviting severe headache and vomiting complications that could impair brain severely. Gulped down two medicines since morning to come out of headache and now saving my self from sudden death due to asphyxiation by checking...
Read moreI stayed there for 2 nights during independence day long weekend. I will share the review in details Pros : Location is nice as it’s in Banjara hills. Food is nice Cons: Not at all as per Taj or Tata standards. Rooms not good , Lake beside smells so bad. I have stayed in various Tata hotels across India and I must say Tata should seriously review Taj Banjara services. Reception staff was very cold. Not at all accommodating . I had to leave for Srisailam early morning next day so I asked for packed breakfast. The box they gave was really poor. Only one napkin and very few items were added though breakfast was for two people. As I have to go Srisailam on long weekend and dam gates being opened so it took us 7 hours to reach there and another 7-8 to come back. We reached hotel at 10:30 pm , super tired and hungry just to find out that key card was not working. Due to this we missed ordering food in their restaurant which was to be ordered by 10:45 and it was 10:55 by which we sorted key card issue and got freshen up. They simply and rudely said no to take order. And then we had to order something from mid night menu in the room. I have never seen such behaviour in any Taj hotels .. this is in comparison with other Taj hotels . Can’t praise enough about their services. Just to add restaurant staff who were serving food , staff at the gate and one who delivered food and luggage in the room were exceptionally good. So this review is...
Read moreI stayed here on business in Aug to Sept in the year 2001, 2 things happened which were shocking and affected my choice ever since, 1, I was given a room on 5th floor furthest from the lift, I put my luggage in that room and headed back to reception to deposit my valuables and passport in the safety deposit box behind reception desk, as I approached the lift I remembered some other item and went back to get it , I was lucky, a thief was heading for the exit stairs with my luggage case and I disturbed his escape, he dropped it and ran down the stairs to make good his escape, I let him get away since I had my case back with me, (lucky for him I was tired from a long trip from Manchester via Dubai) so I reported it to the reception and I was moved to a room away from the outer corners of the floor back nearer the lift, nothing else was done, no investigation was carried out, it was clearly an inside job, it happened too quickly and the thief had a room key to get at my belongings. I repeat,,, no police involved, reception girl was not interested in what had just happened, it was an inside job, I would have been in a bad place if I hadn't gone back instantly to my room.
2, there was rats in the downstairs office we used in those days to send emails and faxes, when I reported it to the management I was told not to worry as it was a baby rat, it was about 12" long..
After 9/11 I left India...
