Disappointing Experience at Subbai Gari Hotel (Ameerpet)
Dear Subbai Gari Hotel Team,
I visited your hotel at Ameerpet today at approximately 2:30 PM and, unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the overall experience.
To begin with, the service was extremely slow. It took an unusually long time for the food to be served, which added to the frustration. Regarding the food quality, while the dal curry and brinjal curry were decent, the rest of the curries left much to be desired. The gravies for all the curries seemed to be the same, with only different boiled vegetables added, which made the dishes feel monotonous and unappealing.
The most concerning aspect of my visit was the quality of the rice, which was subpar and unlike any I’ve had at other restaurants. It felt like a low-quality product, which was disappointing for a place that has a reputation to uphold. Additionally, I was surprised to find that drinking water was not provided by default, and guests are expected to purchase bottled water separately. This seems like a basic service that should be included in the meal price.
At a cost of ₹250 per meal, I did not feel that it was worth the price. I understand that many people may choose your restaurant out of convenience when other local options are busy, but even so, I believe there are several areas for improvement that would help retain customers in the long run.
To enhance the experience, I would suggest addressing the following issues:
Improving the speed of service. Ensuring better food quality, particularly with the rice and curries. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene around the restaurant, including the wash areas. Separating the men's and women’s hand wash and toilet facilities for added convenience. Offering free drinking water as part of the meal, as this is a standard practice in most restaurants. Unfortunately, my experience today was far from the positive reviews I had heard about Subbai Gari Hotel. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and work on making the necessary...
Read moreToday was a noteworthy occasion and was Very disappointed, prompting me to visit the highly publicized Subbayagari hotel, recalling my previous dining experience at the Kakinada Subbaya Gari hotel.
I had a really disappointing experience with this place today, It's concerning when the quality of food and hygiene are far below expectations, especially when a brand has a good reputation.
Below is my experience "Waste of money, Worst taste, Worst managment, Over hyped, Washrooms were like I was about to puke",
Conclusion Will never visit here again in any of the branches in Hyderabad I wish I could give zero star but the options provided here starts with 1 star.
Quality of food is also below average nothing close to actual reputation Brand from Kakinada branch, better to avoid, Kitchen is very unhygienic and storage of food in containers is left open with flies and, provided seating is worst and messy.
Poor food storage and cleanliness are major red flags for both health and safety. I thought it will be helpful to leave a review so others are aware of the situation hopefully.
The rice really impacted my overall experience, especially since it didn’t meet the expectations set by the restaurant’s reputation. Rice can often be a key component of a meal, and when it's off, it can throw off the whole dishes
The reason for 1star review is that it will make others more cautious, and maybe even push the restaurant to improve their standards, I spoke to the management pointing out hygiene and the food quality is worst, then the response from management is least bothering and not ready to listen or expect feedback from customers.
Management recommends cash; if we say no cash, they accept Phone pay, no card payments, and when we asked why no card payments, they make ridiculous justifications and lame excuses, (Kunti Saakulu).
When asked why we can't receive water when we are paying Rs. 250 for each person, the management is quite impolite. There is just mineral water available that to for extra Rs:20...
Read moreWe visited Kakinada Subbayya Gari Hotel only because Sri Kakatiya Deluxe Mess next door was too crowded, and we expected a similar standard of food and service. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing from the moment we stepped in.
As soon as we approached the entrance, we were asked to pay ₹250 per person upfront, without even being shown the menu or given a chance to look around. The staff insisted that there was only one option — a meals menu costing ₹250. Reluctantly, we paid and went in.
The hygiene inside was shockingly poor. When we went to wash our hands, there was a strong unpleasant smell coming from the restrooms, and the area was not maintained at all. Things only got worse from there — it took over 15 minutes just to place a banana leaf, and even after multiple follow-ups, the service was extremely slow, with food being served more than 25 minutes later.
The food itself was bland, not fresh, and far below expectations. We’ve had better meals at small roadside stalls for a fraction of the price. It did not live up to the legacy or reputation of the Subbayya Gari brand.
To make matters worse, while heading to wash our hands again, we noticed the kitchen door was open — what we saw was deeply unhygienic, and certainly not something you'd expect from a place charging premium prices. I expressed my frustration directly to the staff and left immediately.
Overall, this was a very poor experience — from the service to the cleanliness to the food quality. I hope the management takes feedback seriously and works on restoring the standards that the Subbayya Gari name...
