As a vegetarian, I was eager to explore what Krishnapatnam had to offer from my perspective. Situated directly across from Jathara and just a short 10-minute stroll from Pedammagudi Temple in Jubilee Hills, Krishnapatnam is a 170-seater Telugu-themed bar and restaurant that truly impressed me on all fronts. The establishment boasts a medieval theme with historical undertones, featuring a well-lit interior that creates a captivating and relaxing ambiance. The seating arrangements include wooden chairs in configurations of 4, 6, and 8, high chairs at the bar, and a charming swing-style seat in the corner. We were graciously greeted by the host, Mr. Rajnikanth, who took the liberty of crafting a special menu for us, showcasing the finest offerings of Krishnapatnam. As a vegetarian, I will focus solely on the vegetarian dishes I enjoyed. Our first delight was the Rajmundry Rose Milk. Served in a brass glass, this chilled, thick milk infused with rose syrup and topped with almond flakes was a standout. The balance of sweetness and flavor was exemplary. Next, a selection of mocktails arrived. The Jersey, a refreshing blend of grenadine, Sprite, and soda with a dehydrated lime garnish, was my top pick of the trio. The Orange Mitha, while tasty, fell short of the vibrant orange flavor I was hoping for, and I didn’t feel the need for a second round. The Green Apple Sour, known as the Krishnapatnam Effect, was a crowd favorite. The combination of green apple syrup and milky froth served in a wine glass was a remarkable and delightful experience.
The Mokkajonna Wada, a corn-based fritter, paired with fried and salted chilies, was a pleasant starter. It was well-made, though not particularly spicy. The KP Special Paneer Roast was a standout. With a hint of extra black pepper and chili, this ghee-roasted paneer was perfectly spiced and thoroughly enjoyable. After engaging in lively conversation, we moved on to the main course. First up was the Ragi Muddu, also known as Ragi Sangati, served with Gutti Vankaya Curry. I followed the manager’s advice to generously add ghee to the Ragi Sangati and combine it with the Vankaya Curry. The resulting taste was exquisite, leaving me thoroughly impressed. Next was the Pachi Mirchi Paneer Pulao. The spice-laden paneer with fresh basmati rice, served over a banana leaf, was both aromatic and satisfying. The presentation and flavor were exceptional. The meal was so captivating that, despite my modest portions, I was the last to finish. By the time I concluded, desserts had arrived. Out of the four desserts—Milk and Bobbatlu, Ice Cream with Pootharekulu, Krishnapatnam Malai, and Krishnapatnam Delight—I sampled the latter two. Both desserts were nothing short of spectacular. The Krishnapatnam Delight, their rendition of Apricot Delight, was heavenly. The creamy pudding layered with bread in thick, creamy milk was a culinary masterpiece. Similarly, the Krishnapatnam Malai, their version of Shehtoot Malai, featured generous portions of fresh mulberries in a cup of cream. It was an extraordinary end to a remarkable meal. A huge round of applause to the staff for their consistently warm and welcoming smiles throughout our visit, attending to every need with genuine care. A heartfelt standing ovation to Mr. Rajnikanth for crafting a culinary masterpiece at Krishnapatnam and offering us the opportunity to share our experience through this blog. This gem is now firmly on my list for when I crave authentic Telugu cuisine or simply want to indulge in exquisite desserts. And if you’re fortunate, you might even score a generous discount by booking a table...
Read moreI recently had dinner at the Krishnapatnam outlet in Jubilee Hills, and it turned out to be a delightful journey through bold Telugu flavors. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance — a tasteful blend of modern interiors with rustic, cultural touches. The seating is spacious and comfortable, ideal for both family dinners and casual meetups with friends.
🥣 Starters & Soups
We kicked things off with their mutton soup, and I must say — it was an excellent start to the meal. The soup was rich, warm, and full of depth, with tender bits of mutton that added heartiness without being too heavy. It had a homestyle feel, yet refined in preparation.
Next came a round of starters, which were nothing short of stellar: • Krishnapatnam Special Chicken Wings/Lollipops: These were a real treat — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a spicy masala that was full of flavor. The heat was balanced and enhanced the overall taste rather than overpowering it. • Juicy Mutton Starter: This lived up to its name. The mutton was incredibly tender and infused with spices that gave every bite a satisfying burst of flavor. It was well-cooked, not chewy at all — which is always a plus with mutton. • Boneless Fish Starter: This was another flavorful dish. The fish was fresh and well-fried, maintaining its moisture without being greasy. It did lean toward the spicier side, so if you’re sensitive to heat, you might want to ask for a milder version. That said, spice lovers will absolutely enjoy it.
🍛 Main Course
For the main course, we shared a Mixed Biryani, which came with a generous mix of chicken, mutton, and prawns. The biryani was cooked beautifully — long-grain rice, well-spiced, with layers of meat that were tender and flavorful. While it was slightly spicy, it wasn’t overwhelming. The flavors were bold and aromatic — exactly what you expect from a solid Andhra-style biryani. Every bite felt indulgent and satisfying.
🥤 Drinks
To cool things down, we ordered: • Lemon Soda (Sweet & Salt): Super refreshing, especially after all the spice. It had the right tangy fizz and balanced flavor — a great palate cleanser during and after the meal. • Rosemilk: This one brought a nostalgic touch — chilled, mildly sweet, and aromatic. It was the perfect soothing end to an otherwise spice-heavy meal.
👍 Service & Atmosphere
The service was excellent — the staff was polite, attentive, and well-informed about the menu. They made helpful recommendations and ensured we were comfortable throughout the meal. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, the service was quick and seamless.
The ambiance deserves a special mention. It’s thoughtfully designed — upscale yet welcoming, with traditional elements that remind you of a South Indian home while still feeling modern and chic.

📝 Final Thoughts
Krishnapatnam at Jubilee Hills truly delivers on its promise of authentic Telugu cuisine with a premium dining experience. The food is flavorful, portions are generous, and the overall atmosphere makes it a place worth visiting — whether you’re a local or someone exploring Hyderabad’s culinary scene.
Would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys spicy, well-crafted non-veg dishes with a touch of local soul. Just a small heads-up: if you’re spice-sensitive, consider mentioning that...
Read moreA new gem in the Andhra cuisine serving restaurants is KriShnapatnam. Food: We started with two Soups: Kerala Style mutton soup which was my favourite. The broth was flavourful with tender pieces of mutton. Loved the colour of that spicy soup and it's taste.
Chicken soup: This tasted like any other chicken soup. I had definitely expected something more Andhar-ish. All in all, it tasted good.
Starters: Andhra chilli chicken: This is a must try. Definitely the star of the day. It had a hint of sweetness which blended with the otherwise spicy chicken. A super hit.
Miryala kodi vepudu: This was another chicken dish we had. This was high on spice. The quantity was good. Although it was super spicy, the blend of flavours made it taste better.
*Konaseema mamsam vepudu: This mutton dish was again high in spice. The mutton was cooked well. The meat was marinated and cooked to perfection. If you are a mutton lover then this is a perfect dish for you.
*Pacchimirchi gongura mamsam vepudu: Im a gongura fan and I can have gongura with anything possible. This was a lovely combo for me as it was mutton with gongura marination. That slight tang cut through the spice level in the dish which I thoroughly enjoyed.
*Royyala vepudu: The prawns were super fresh and the masala was very tasty again on the spicy Side.
*Korameenu fish fry: Super crispy fish fry with delicious marination is all that I want to say about this dish. You must try it.
Main course Chicken Chettinad: This dish was my favourite this was not extremely spicy as you would expect it to be. But the gravy was something that you need to eat with parathas or naan or whatever you wish. This rich brown gravy was definitely the star. Telangana mutton curry: This was oh so yum. The Mutton was falling off the bone and cooked to perfection. The rich red gravy was super flavourful and tasted perfect with your buttery naan. Tomato Aalugadda Royyalu: Being a hard-core nonvegetarian I enjoyed this dish less compared to the other dishes for obvious reasons. However, for all the vegetarians out there this can definitely be your go-to dish.
Kheema Biryani: This was seriously one hell of a rollercoaster. The spiciness and the flavours were amazing. It tasted even better with the salan and the raita.
Kodi vepudu pulao: I had this Pulao for the very first time and quite frankly, enjoyed it. There were some other people on the table who didn’t quite like it much but I found it extremely flavourful and ate it with Raita and salan.
Desserts Mayabogh: All you need is dessert in one hand and Telugu songs playing in the background for that perfect rustic mood to set in! Mayabogh is a super delicious dessert available here. It's loaded with fruits and dry fruits and has a creamy texture overall. Not the extra sweet dessert.
Malai sandwich: Not particularly an Andhra dish but this dish in general was tasty. Perfect dessert for those lacking sweetness in life. Haha! It tasted nice and spongy and really tasty too!
Channa Toast: this dish was a bit of a let down. The flavours didn't blend well. It didn't taste as pretty as it looked.
All in all I’m definitely going to come...
