New Astoria Restaurant — Restaurant in Hyderabad

I ordered chicken 65 biryani and the rice was too dry to eat, the chicken 65 which was served beneath the biryani was cold and the biryani rice was just above the room temperature . The basic expectation is that the food should be hot when it's served. The service was poor, the hand wash area wasn't tidy, waiters weren't wearing any masks, the ones who were wearing the masks had their masks over their chin, the mouth and nose were not covered. The quantity served was barely enough for two even though it was full chicken 65 biryani. So I suggest anyone who is thinking of going to Astoria to not order chicken 65 biryani and not to keep their expectations high when it comes to service. All the hype which has been spread about Astoria seems only better when compared to bawarchi only. But when you rate Astoria in terms of taste and service only then you will surely be disappointed. The hotel lost its charm and is now only running because of the popularity it achieved previously and not because of the present taste...

June 2019 Review: Visited for lunch. Horrible service. Food not served for more than 30 minutes. Hotel was almost full. A/c not effective. Glasses not neat enough. Just not acceptable. Poor service levels. Waiter said ThumsUp is not available. But it was being served to other customers. Probably the number of waiters is less. Plates were not clean enough. Oil stains visible. Tandoori item quality degraded.

When we enquired about the reason for the delay in serving food, waiter said that the delay was due to the slow service from the kitchen.

After a disappointing experience at BawarcHi's last night, we went basically next door to the New Astoria today. Here we received what we were looking for, a masala and meat rich mutton biryani. I gave it 5 stars, my companions 4 stars. They would have given 5 stars but found a little too many bones. Also the presentation was excellent and the service very friendly and efficient. Also, unlike at BawarcHi's, our jumbo dish was covered while eating, keeping the biryani warm. The atmoshpere was also nice and spotlessly clean. If you want a REAL tasty biryani in a nice place , come here instead. Akshay, your aunty's biryani still tops my list, but today's comes...
